ArmEn????

I was at Guv on Saturday and saw the poster for ArmIn Steve Lawler etc. What I don't understand is why did they first of all spell Armin's name wrong. They put "ArmEn Van Buuren" They also put his name at the bottom of the list in smaller type. That just pissed me off. Yeah I like Steve Lawler, Tom Stephan, and that Peter guy but ARMIN is the reason why I'm going! You would think Goldclub woulden't have made such a mistake. It's almost as bad as when I saw a flyer for Guvernment Spelt with a "O"!

Posted by Time2Burn on Mar-31-2003 04:08:

LOL!

Yeah thats pretty weak. They need to either proof read their shit or get a fucking clue.

hey maybe the venue was city hall!

hahaha.. they are morons.
When I saw Armin at the docks in October 2001 they did the same thing! I think the spelling mistake was something worse though. Anyhow, when he signed my ticket, he edited his name on it.. I just looked at him and shook my head like "I know.. forgive this club for being completely STUPID".. I didn't say that.. but he knew what I was thinking and laughed.
You don't bring in a big dj and spell his name wrong! That's disrespectful

Far, far too many people seem to think it's Paul Van Dyke.

And let's not forget how they spell John '00 FleMing's name wrong half the time...

Posted by Guvaholic on Apr-01-2003 04:38:

I wonder who we could contact about it. It would make me feel better to know that the people that printed the poster made the mistake, and not Goldclub. Can anyone figure out why ArmIn's name is at the bottom of the list in smaller print? Needless to say another thing that pissed me off!

I'm holding that ticket in my hand, it says

ArmiS van Buuren
Armin is known by many names.

BTW, what they did shows a total lack of professionalism

People, it's just a spelling mistake!!! Everyone makes mistakes.

If you guys knew how many errors that have been made on TR event flyers and posters, you guys would flame us to death!

Da, didn't you guys spell it Flemming on the 1 year tickets?

Not too many people criticized 'cause nobody else knew how it was spelled either.

Considering these guys are payed a lot of money to do there gigs, and they bring in a full house, I find it really hard to believe that they could spell their name wrong.

No wonder DJ's are getting sick and tired of coming to Toronto. They don't get the respect that they deserve!!!

Whoa, whoa, whoa! Watch the language there... but yeah, who cares if it's a spelling mistake or whatever it was! Would you rather not see his name on that flyer at all?

Nope. We didn't spell it wrong. I still have the original ticket text ticketmaster sent me before the ticket were printed:

JOHN '00' FLEMING/ORKIDEA
VIVA 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY
AGES 16+/VIP AREA 19+
VIVA NIGHTCLUB
8261 WOODBINE AVE, MARKHAM
SAT FEB 01 2003 10PM

Sorry to offend brunette and fantom (and by the way, you're both getting wedgies at PvD) by continuing this discussion, but I would like to say that it is probably not Goldclub that made this error, since Armin's name (and everything else) is spelled properly on the actual flyer.

Hehehee, that is if I even show up for PVD.
And you couldn't offend me even if you tried to... unless you mentioned my mother in a wrong context, in which case I'd chase you down and beat the crap out of you... but let's leave that for another occasion.

And related to this topic, do any of you remember that spelling mistake for State '01 party @ Docks, when they spelled Armin's name on the ticket as "Armis van Buuren"? I still have that ticket, autographed too...

The point is --> shit happens! People make mistakes... nothing you can do about it!

Behold, my arse.

yo momma is so wide, the enhance-adjusted Euler manifold constant of 11th dimensional quantum tunneling through a 2 foot lead wall are less than 3.88 x 10^-596477745 per Planck!!!

sorry, i've been waiting to use a physics yo momma joke

Where did you get this info from??? "Sick and tired of coming to Toronto" I've NEVER heard any DJ say that.

Don't get me wrong,I've never actually ever hear any DJ say that, probably because those who don't want to come don't but through discussions that I've had with those I've met at clubs, many they think that many DJ's don't come to Toronto as often as other cities because they don't get the respect the deserve. I would also base this statement on the notion that the electronic music following in Toronto isn't nearly as big as it is in Europe, and Asia.

...As often as WHAT other cities? I can't think of too many cities that get as many DJs as Toronto, I mean except in the UK and some parts of Europe...
