How to meet pvd?

Just had questions on anyone who might have a though about how I could meet Paul van dyk. I've been a huge fans for years, and would love to meet him. Starfox, I've seen several pics that you have with him, and I'm sure mainly people knwo somebody who knwos somebody. Just thought I'd get some feedback or any suggstions any of you might have. If not, I'll guess I'll just have to bumrush the booth apr.18th...lol Take care...

hey there,

if you're planning to meet Paul in NYC, I suggest to think twice. It is very hard there. Security + Bouncers blows, sucks, etc... they`re disrespectful and so on. Its better to try in a smaller venue like Avalon in Boston or Glow in DC. Also its a plus if you know some people from the inside.

This is very hard to do. I know form experience. I tried to climb the wall/booth, but there's nothing to hold on to. It's best to flirt with the bouncers...LOL. i crack myself up.

I figured it is tough. Just tried to have some input about it. Starfox, how did u meet him? Through people u knew? Guess I'll just try to hurdle the booth @ Roxy...gotta work on my high jump... Cheers

it's easiest to meet him at avalon, that's where most of us have gotten our pics with him. the booth at avalon is very accessible, and he always hangs around a bit to sign autographs and take pics.

that won't work either- that will surely get you kicked out! the bouncers there are not nice people at all, even at the end. even to get an autograph was hard last time. (thanks fox )

so good luck, but grappling the bodyguards will not work either...

the Starfox Method to meet PVD(patented in 2002):

although it is called a method it really should be considered a process.

1st step) start idolizing PVD at a young age
2nd step) start sending PVD 5-10 e-mails a day, every day of the year
3rd step) make it your goal to fly everywhere in America to see him play
4th step) e-mail Markus every time you have a question as to where Paul will be that day so that you might "bump" into him

i was at avalon last .. was it february ? great (short) show, but it didn't seem to me like itd be easy to meet him. am i just clueless ? im hoping my german will come in handy sometime if im trying to beat out other fans...

i think your best chance is to try and catch him outside the club before he gets in his limo/bus... we saw him casually walking towards his limo after the soundfactory gig... he was talking to a few people outside there and shaking hands...

we met him outside exit too... went outside the club around the back after the gig... saw one of those mini tour buses with lots of crap inside and figured that was paul's... we hung out back there for a few minutes and out the back door comes pvd, markus, and that pam manager person... had a chance to talk to him for a bit...

definately beats struggling with people in the club to get an autograph... and he seems a lot more relaxed and upbeat after finishing a gig...

The times I met Paul personally happen to come out of sheer chance...like the time I conversed with him at KW in Munich (see my avatar). Im also lucky to know Luis Diaz, so I can catch Paul as he enters or exits the dj booth in NY.....

My personal opinion is to stick around AFTER he spins, and just scream his freakin name so loud, that he gets annoyed and will come over to you out of pity....hehe...
