escee's mix of the month - Part 2

Back at it again.

This month is a mix from Jaykue. He mixed this about a month and a half ago, he hasnt been mixing long. Pretty decent set. I dont have a tracklisting or cue for it. Im sure when JayKue looks at this thread he will post one.

JayKue's Mix

playtime of 58:48

Remember, dont spam this link every where, its not my host and if it uses too much bandwidth the host will take it down. If you want to send me mixes then message me on icq or irc.

boy, this is kind of embarressing.

this is pretty much my first mix. after having my tables for 3 weeks, i felt a little ambitious, n decided to do a lil recording, n lo n behold the result. at this stage, i hadnt learnt how to beatmatch quikly enough yet to mix in halfway through the tunes so um yea, reason why each track plays for so long.

the mix is kinda chilled, but tries to leave u something to want more.
track list n cue times r below.

[00:00] tiesto n junkie xl - obsession [filterheadz mix]
[08:09] Space Manoeuvres - Stage One [separation mix]
[13:51] capetown - pitstop
[19:18] ayla feat yel - sun is coming out [uplifting mix]
[25:57] lost tribe - gamemaster [signum mix]
[32:06] mirco de govia - things that matter
[38:37] avb - yet another day [riva mix]
[45:10] dreaming of paprica 2003 [dave joy mix]
[51:05] energy 52 - cafe del mar [marco v mix]

excuse one of two of the trannies, beat matching is a lil horrific.
download it n give it a listen, i'd appreciate any feedback!!

also, thanks escee for hosting it up!

this looks like a great mix but the their seems to be a bit of a clash of style at the end.

[38:37] avb - yet another day [riva mix]
[45:10] dreaming of paprica 2003 [dave joy mix]

its great that you are trying to mix it up but dont compromise that for the flow and progression of the mix otherwise the tracklist is awesome!!

hey jules, yea hehe. i know what ur sayin. i did this really early on tho and so had a realli limited selection of tunes. think i only had 20-25 or so records. to be honest, i cant remember whether its the riva or rising star mix. mite be the rising star as that has a lil more energy. i'll check it up tonite. but i dont think the result was too bad as the overall bpm tho was pretty laid back. around 138 i think? just wanted something with a lil less melody in the end. thanks for the words tho.

u know, i was lucky to even have cafe del mar [marco v mix] in there, that was a complimentary record from u guys at vinyl warning hehe

Overall a very solid mix. I was studying while listening to it, so I didn't actually notice any of these trainwrecks you were talking about I really liked the transition from capetown - pitstop -> ayla feat yel - sun is coming out [uplifting mix]! Beautifully done Tracklisting was solid btw. Nice combination of the old and new.

i thought that as well, nice mix, the track complement each other nicely.

thanks for listening guys.
the harmonics entwine beautifully with each other in that transition i found. its definitely the best transition i've done in my whole whopping two months of mixing. *grin*

love to get more feedback if possible!

I downloaded this the other night and omg "mirco de govia - things that matter" is a tune. I've never heard it before afaik, but directly from your mix, I must have now heard it 10 times in the last day. I got back to work just now and had it in my head, hit unpause on winamp and low and behold I've been listening to it at work, so I've not really taken note of the mixing too much it's more been bg music, but I'll definitely do a big critique of it like I did for escee's mix. I've also put it on my webhost, and I don't have any real limits on the bandwith there, so feel free to rape it rather than escee's mate's link. (http://www.bitfed.com/files/mp3s/jayuke_20030220.mp3)

Critique to follow later tonight probably, or sometime next week if I don't get to it tonight. I'll also make a cue file for those of you with the mp3cue plugin for winamp (http://www.bitfed.com/files/tools/mp3cue0.94.zip).
