I did my first in... 1996 I think.
Might've been '97 too... didn't take it seriously until I got Reason in 2001 (?), though.

i made my 1st shitty song with my sony playstation (mtv Music Generator) . I dont even know what happened to it.. but that was about 6 years ago (i was 13). Come a long way since then. But everyone starts somewhere right?

Produced my first decenent track about 7 months ago. Wrote it off as crap untill I listened to it again recently. It's now one of my favourites. Using a combination of software and hardware. Took about a year of djn before I got into production and about another year for me to get semi-decent at it.

i started making music in mid '95 when i got my first pc. finished my first real selfmade track end '95 (24 december 1995 <- i'll never forget that date).
within those months i tested several trackers, and finally started with screamtracker. from then i took me about 3 weeks to finish my first track.

but as usual, your first track sounds like shit! but hell, that's how it used to be...
i uploaded this very first 'masterpiece'. so if you like to take a listen: http://www.angelfire.com/music5/und...d_dimension.s3m

I started making music on trackers about 12 years ago. I moved over to Cubase about 4 years ago.

I don't write that much, but everything I do sounds better produced than the last, and it's only the last song I finished that started sounding reasonably well produced.

I started of just like Rb2k1 with my playstation 3 years ago.
My first song I made with it was called 'Tranceform'
U can download it here if u'd like to listen to it:

I have all my other songs made with Music2000 on tape, it's fun to listen to em once in a while.

I played around with Music2000 for about one year until I had enough money to buy my self a computer. So I bought one and grabbed a copy Fruityloops and started to make more music.

Cool

started farting on with my m8 on music creation on ps ages ago, 97?, got music 2000 in 99 and farted on with that, made some semi-decent tunes, got fruity in early 2002 i think, never looked back! although i do make some softer tunes in reason now aswell.

Posted by nic01445 on Apr-02-2003 04:54:

started late 2001. i just got into trance like a month before hand, so i really didnt know too much about what i was doing. had fruity demo, despised it. it think 1. i didnt have a manual, and 2. i didnt wanna spend time figuring out wut everything was. first few tracks=crap. use reason now, and i love it.

Thanks for ure replies TA's

Ive just started producing after about 2 years of djing. I purchased Reason2 and dam theres so much to it but i love it. the thing is knowing what to do with it all. Also getting good samples and i must buy a synth.

My furst track took 7 months to complete.

My first, decent track that I finished was last year March or so I think. Since then I've become more serious, before I'd only make a short snippet or so and never finish it. Wasn't anything to club read at all. Since I finished my first track things have been going very rapidly.

I use software for sequening (Cubase VST 5.1), but some synth for sounds and effects (Access Virus C, Roland XP 30). I'm currently thinking about getting a few more tools, looking at a Waldorf Q synthesizer and at Native Instruments Intakt (VST Loop Sampler) once it's been released.

I put my first track on the internet in mid 2000 I think. When I released that I had played around with Fast Tracker II and MODPlug tracker for some months. Since then I have made no less than 10 tracks So efficiency is definitely something I have to work with

Peace
