Smiley DJ Best Software for MP3 mixing?

Hi to all TA's

I was just wondering if any of u could give me some advice on which is the best software to use for MP3 mixing? Do u need to have 2 sound cards or can u manage with just one? And finally which is the best way to set this up?

Cheers

I've not tried many but I recommend Traktor by Native Instruments - the second version carries some improvements but I find the first to be better laid out and easier to use. You don't have to have two sound cards but the one you use should be decent otherwise you will have to use a higher latency - this makes the program less responsive.

I doubt that was very helpful.

A good program to use is Atomix Mp3, I used to use that before I obtained my setup. You dont need dual soundcards because the program automatically beatmatches songs although i class this as cheating.

If you feel the need to practice, move the program to the top of your desktop, so that you can't see the wave outputs, and don't use the auto-bpm feature.

Then, setup your keys so that you can pitch the record up and down, and nudge it forward or backward. That's the best way to practice with mp3's.

Mixmeister is one of my favorites.

In my opinion MixVibes is the definite winner here. It's looks and works just like an ordinary mixer with double cd. Try it out!

vtt is one of the simplest yet most powerful mixing programs out there.... my pick for sure...

PCDJ is ok, but it has no eq, so it'd only be good with a real mixer...
