Who's going? Anyone, anyone?

Posted by beema on Apr-05-2003 01:38:

I've been all set on going for about the past 2 months, and I just found out I can't make it.
Instead, I will be taking a wonderful 5 hour car ride down treacherous 81 back to the shithole of a university that I unfortunatley attend.

I went to Marco V on 04-05-03 and 09-14-02. I'd say he was much better on 04-05-03. He started off pretty hard at the beginning then started playing more of his classics towards the end.

The encore was pretty nuts. After his set was officially over he must've done two more sets back-to-back. Just when you thought he was done the crowd screamed for more and he gave it to them.

Here are the VERY few songs I can remember from the night (sorry, I'm really bad at IDing, my collection is old and my memory is bad)

Midway - Monkey Forest
Push - Universal Nation (Push Remix)
Energy 52 - Cafe del Mar (Marco V Remix)
Marco V feat. Lesly Hendriks - I Feel You
Marco V - Godd (Remix)
Marco V - Revolt
Marco V - Simulated
Marco V - C:/del *.MP3
Coldplay - Clocks (Marco V Remix)
Faithless - God Is A DJ (remix ID?)

(as you can see, he played a few more anthems than usual)

I noticed a much different style in mixing this time around. Unlike the other Dutch DJs he would fade out a track completely after a big break, and then bring in the next track at a totally perfect position. It was hard to keep up with the transitions as he'd sneak in new songs one after another.

Posted by Werewolf on Apr-06-2003 21:32:

yeah, it was AWESOME !!!

I wish I can find the complete tracklist...

btw. the push track he played was Silver Bath...

Posted by FrosT on Apr-07-2003 00:28:

He banged the place pretty hard, it was a good time, and it wasn't super packed like usual so there was actually some breathing room

Posted by beema on Apr-07-2003 00:57:

goddamnit
I missed him again!

he better come back soon!!!!!

Posted by das_Mario on Apr-07-2003 04:50:

Thumbs up

Marco V rocked the house! I feel bad for anyone who couldn't experience such a tight set! As much as I loved Marco V's set last September, I'd say this one was even better! So much energy, so many bangin' tracks...what else could you ask for?

Among the tracks I recognized from Marco V's set...
Push - Universal Nation 2002
Plastic Boy - Silver Bath
Coldplay - Clocks (Marco V rmx)
Marco V - Indicator
Marco V - Godd
Energy 52 - Cafe del Mar 2002 (Marco V rmx)
Kid Vicious - Proceed

IMO...Marco V is one DJ not to miss! If you love the tech-trance sound, Marco V will rock your world! Can't wait for whenever he's back at Glow!

Posted by das_Mario on Apr-07-2003 04:53:

And another thing...Marco V is one cool guy! He stayed for a little after his set to greet some of the fans. I had a chance to meet him and thank him for his bangin' set! No attitude or anything like that! Marco V rocks!

Posted by Srezic on Apr-07-2003 07:14:

I couldn't go due to an overwhelming amount of schoolwork =(

Like Beema said, i hope he comes back soon. Can't wait for the recording on glows site.

BTW, Jose, you sure he played PVD version of I Feel You? Thought only PvD had it. Maybe he gave a copy to marco, i dunno =P.

no way did he play the original Godd. it was some remix, unless another song has the same lyrics.

He def. didn't play the PVD Remix, since he doesnt have it. I even asked him in Miami if he had it and at that point he hadn't even heard it yet lol. It had to either be the orig or a new remix he did.

Posted by Werewolf on Apr-08-2003 22:49:

does anyone remember the first 4-5 tracks? 'coz I really liked one of them, and can't remember what it was...

I know he played Godd, but when I listened to some samples at home the closest mix I could come up with was the Original. Maybe it was the V Dub, I'm not sure. I don't have enough remixes to compare

As for the PvD Remix, maybe he was really playing the original. I don't know. Man, IDing these tracks is getting ugly.

????

what's wrong when others make comments about the tracks? you might have made mistakes...

DUDE, I was just trying to give people an idea of what tracks were played with the disclaimer that I'm not good at IDing material. I know I made mistakes, yeesh!

hey man, no beef. It's all good. If you need me to send samples of any of these just let me know.

I'm still mad at Beema for not showing up though. Dangit Beema! We need your tracklistings!
