Marco V @ exit

Well I arrived there around 2pm. There was no line or wait outside and the club wasn�t super packed whatsoever. It had a perfect crowd (I�m not talking about the quality just the amount) I didn�t believe it till I looked into the booth but Marco was on. I was hearing some banging HARD trance big room style. As for Marco he was fucking flawless.

Ok time for the Bad. Around 3am Rick and me are standing in front of the booth when some FOB pushes me out of his way. I turn around to give him a nasty look and then he comes at me. He threw a few kicks but missed. This string bean prick had like 10 of his friends with im so I walked away. This is my first time really seeing what these assholes are like. I really never had a problem with them before last night. They all got kicked out later in the night Thank you Rick

Ok back to the review. Exits sounds was awesome. Loud and deep. The light show was good also. Around 5:30 a � hour before Marco was off the turned the lights on. They really fucked up what the main floor doing this. It was a put down in my eyes to Marco. And as soon as Chris asta came on they turned the lights back off. I had a chance to talk to Marco after his set. He didn�t like exit. He�s like I tried techno I tried trance but they weren�t feeling it. I told him that most of the club consists of 15 and 16 year olds who don�t know squat about music. Good seeing Delish, primeeveilguy, Ricky & Alex. Tom said he bumped into Iam and Daphne a few times bye the bar but didn�t see them.

To put this in perspective I liked this set more then his arc, glow or opium sets. He was diverse but hard style and fast all night. Those to components made for and amazing night. At points I closed my eyes and didn�t know if I was listening to Marco V or Scot Project.

more like 15 to 45 year olds who do not CARE about the music...majority of them being asian, especially chinese... i understand its all good if u go with your friends not mind them and just do your own thing, but sadly to say individuals in the club come together as a whole to create the vibe of the night and this is somewhat impossible @ exit...

im glad u had fun tho listening to marco play.. what time did he start? i was home, fell asleep to conan

Cool review man - That set sounds like it was sick!!! I'm glad you had a good time except for that bullshit. I gotta question though - What's a FOB? O_o

This is waht happens when 70% of Exit is filled with FOBs.

Man, those dudes pissed me off so bad. Heres the long version of what happened. There was this one FOB who apparently had a thing against white males. He would get pissed off if they looked at him a wrong way or bump into him by accident or not.

So even before John came I saw him and his crew run after this one white guy cause he was standing in back of him and probably by accident bumped the FOB. That asshole would go all off and start giving him the finger and cursing at him. Then when his friends sees this they all run after the guy and try to beat him up. This is the first case.

Second case. John arrives at like 1 something close to 2, he comes over and say whats up to me. So we chilled and were dancing in the middle for a while. Out of the blue I didn't even know if John looked at the dude or bumped him but he goes off on John. I was like WTF!!!
He starts giving John the finger and cursing at him. ( I was thinking man you kidding me, John would knock your ass out so hard your whole family would be unconscious) But the only reason the dude was so hardcore was because he had like 10 of his friends to back him up. I mean these guys are by no means tough. I mean the FOB that was pissed at John was like as big as John's arm. The only reason they are tough is because they have like all thier friends with them. So they all ran after John and John just backed up.

Third case. So like half an hour later or so after John's incident this FOB starts with another white dude. I didn't see who started it but the white guy probably walked by him and he didn't like the dude.LOL So I see his ass cursing and flippin the biride to the guy, so as usual him and all of china run after this one guy. At this point Security see it and chases after them. Being the slick guy that he is the FOB quickly makes a detour and runs back to the crowd.

At this point I've seen enough, so I point him out to security and he gives me this look "like man I didn't do anything" I was like yeah ok there buddy. So as security is whisking him away my friend asked me a question I turned around to answer her and before I could even say anything one of his FOB friends punches me right in the face. I was WTF!!!! $@&!&@#!& but before I could even go at him security took his ass away too.

So yeah interesting night, as for the review I think John said it all. Marco played a real good set. I went nuts when he dropped "C:\del*.mp3"

Yo arleetec, that sucks man...Shit like that is what ruins nights out. Ok - now when everyone one says the crowd as Exit sucks, I didn't that it was "that" bad - Is it always like that? Or was last night the worst it's been in a while?

Best Marco V Set Ever!! He didn't play any shit this time. Almost the whole set was hardstyle mixed with his own stuff. He did exactly what I was hopeing for and went way past my expectations.
The crowd was the usual Exit crowd. They cranked the sound up so loud that the bass was a little distorted. I didn't mind. I rather it that way instead of it being too low.

holy shiiiit. I hate to use the word 'they' when referring to the asian population at Exit, but 'they' now occupy the whole main floor, all the way up to the stage. John, that sucks, but getting involved with those kids is just not the way to go. There are situations where figuring out who the asshole is in the confrontation is not easy, but when shit like that happens it's hard not to make certain assumptions. I love all people, but most of the FOBs in that place are there to do drugs, and be tough guys, not enjoy the music.
Besides that story, which really annoys me, I had a pretty good night. V was awesome, mixed it up a lot. I'm dying to find the name of one of the songs he dropped towards the beginning of the night. it was a really dark, grinding, evil sounding tech track. One of the first tracks he dropped, and apparently he has been dropping it a lot in recent sets. Thanks for anyone who can help me out. I was def a little pissed about Project not showing up, but I knew he wasn't gonna be there since yesterday morning. As I was leaving I ended up chatting with Marco V and some exit manager for a few minutes. Niether were happy abotu project's cancellation. But apparently he has a make-up date, the 25th I believe they said. If he is there, i will def go, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

I'm a moron, that song was Urban Shakedown...sounded different in a big room like Exit's.
Two other id's that John didn't include... V's remix of Cafe del Mar, and Queen and Vanguard's Flash. Both awesome to hear.

WOW.. what a shame!!!!.. on behalf of all those stupid asian at EXIT that night.. i apologize. i hate bad vibe ... esp. at clubs where the music is suppose to bring everyone together. ... what a shame..and please dont think all asians are like that.. b/c we are not.. esp. koreans... we are NICE people

Summary of the night:

Exit - Sucks
Security - Sucks
Sound - Sucks
Crowd - sucks
Lights - sucks

that sums it up. Marco played about as well as you can on that shitty system. The bass is way too distorted and kills the highs and midrange completely. The FOB's started about 8 fights on the dancefloor, thankfully Daph and I went upstairs right before they broke out. I don't know what John was seeing but the lights/sound are the worst out of any club I have ever been to. Also, I'm not big on having my balls "cupped" or having to take my shoes off so some big puerto rican can rub my feet and stick his fingers in between my toes. If they want to stop drugs get a fucking drug sniffing dog. This club has no clue, never had a clue, and will never get a clue, because the crowd is totally "clueless" they dont have to fix anything. The only good thing about Exit is that it keeps the underage, punk, gangster FOB's out of all the other clubs. They should all be lined up and shot, actually no. That isnt cruel enough. They should be ritualistically tortured for months then they should be burned to death by cigarettes for every time one of those little POS burns me without saying sorry. THIS CLUB SUCKS and for those that say it doesnt either A) are comatose or B)Have never heard a dj except in their bedrooms (this of course does not apply to Tom or John, who for some reason like Exit. I will never fully understand why)

As for the Ferry Meet-up, I don't think I will be back for Ferry, unless a miracle got me there...

p.s. Marco didn't really play a lot of new stuff. Mostly a lot of his own shit with Solarize and C:/ being the only new tunes. His set last Saturday destroyed this Exit set and its a shame that he has to play so differently here

i'm a lurker - but just couldn't help but add my 2 cents in regards to those FOBs at exit -- as someone noted earlier, please don't confuse or group together the chinatown, shirtless, skinny, gangster, scrawny tatooed chinese mini-thugs -- from the comparatively fewer but hard core group of true trance lovers who happen to be korean~~~ you can tell who the koreans are cuz they're a prettier crowd
