Groove: That Rave Movie

Has anybody watched it? Digweed makes cameo appearances in this rave movie released 2 years ago. Is it any good?

I know it's probably a very old flick but I have been trying to get hold of this movie forever. I couldn't possibly wait for a DVD or a VCD release to hit Singapore because my country hardly imports shows like these. Searches on Kazza produced nothing. Where can I download or watch this movie?

Not good. If your going to watch a movie like that go grab Human Traffic. Yes Digweed makes an appearence but overall its not a good movie IMO. Human Traffic makes a cameo by Carl Cox and has alot more trance and ect than Groove does. So look for that, or even "Go" would be a sufficiant movie..

i never saw this movie in the theaters but i remember when they were getting ready to shoot it cause they were asking for extras on the sfraves board. i would have been in it... if id been 18 at the time !

Posted by audiotherapy on Apr-06-2003 07:13:

i saw both, i agree human traffic i better, and more witty...

Yeah, Groove was a good idea that just didn't work out right. It's worth watching though. Human Traffic is good. It does a better job of showing what it's like to be high on ecstacy (and the comedown).

I think we can all agree that Human Traffic is madness.. or even Go.. but nothing owns Groove when Heaven Scent is dropped in.. omfg!!! MAgic ... simply MAGIC!!!

That movie was extremely corny. I recommend you smoke something before watching....then it's really funny.

I saw this a while ago but I remember it being lame as hell with no plot and a cheasy attempt to depict the rave scene. Like digweed would ever show up for a 2 bit underground rave and play for peanuts ...

Lol. I agree 100%. Smoke something before watching it and you'll laugh your ass off.

i saw it a long time ago, and thought it was pretty good... maybe because i have thing for small private parties... and digweed dropping heaven scent at the end, mmmmmm

Be Cool!

yea Groove's corny, but itz still good fun. decent enough way to pass time if you have an hour and half to spare. watch it!

Posted by zorra on Apr-08-2003 02:14:

the actors cant act their way out of a box, but it was a pretty good movie..i guess, if you are bored

Posted by BeatFreak on Apr-08-2003 03:18:

Go is a great movie to watch stoned. It's not a really a rave movie but has this really corny rave scene. They play BT - Believer in it and it's also on the soundtrack. There's a funny scene where the girl sells these stupid guys fake pills and then tells them they need to smoke ALOT of weed with it. They're all like "This is awesome, i feel like I'm floating!". HAHA!
I recommend watching Go though.

i really liked it, just be sure to get into it not looking for a great plot or action-packed movie, its pace is really chilled out. but i still think it's a fun movie

Posted by Santino on Apr-08-2003 06:15:

yeah it's a good flick

Posted by musicman007 on Apr-08-2003 09:15:

damn..i remember seeing this movie with some friends...its now a classic...people in the cinema started going nuts when heaven scent was played!!

crazy.

Cheesy as, doesnt at all help the image that non-US people have of their club scene.

I admit tho, thats the most realistic looking 'Coming up on a pill' I've ever seen

Posted by LKD on Apr-08-2003 17:36:

drug/rave/trance related movies ive seen:
Human Traffic (loved some of the lines in it and even saved them to drop in some sets )
24 Hour Party People (all about the birth of punk to the birth of rave in manchester...focuses on the band New Order and HAppy Mondays)
Kevin and Perry Go Large (bout 2 idiots from UK goni to Ibiza to try and make it big...must watch when high/drunk...absolutely stupid humour which is enjooyable if in goofy mood)
Trainspotter (Choose Life, Choose a Career....)

seen some others too..cant think off hand but those are ones i recomend to those who havent seen em yet

*lkd sits back to be slaughtered for post*

Ehh, it's an ok movie. Kinda romanticized Digweed but it was alright. I wouldn't watch it again.

Opened me up to Digweed, I bought his 2cd set and it isn't what I expected. Is his live stuff better?

Posted by audiotherapy on Apr-10-2003 06:58:

Digweed's bedrock label kicks ass,
some of his kiss100 shows are tight, and the guest djs...

i like his GU LA album its pretty good, hes got a new album coming out MMIII which has a promising tracklist...

Posted by mute79 on Apr-10-2003 14:01:

MMII has been out for a long time now, and Digweed's GU 19 - Live in LA is a masterpiece... however, if you're not into progressive and are into high energy epic tunes, you shouldn't expect much from it...

although there are occassions where you can still listen to his sets, like after the party when you're chilling and just want to relax and trip out
