alternative to fruity loops?

well i just started to produce my own drum n bass, and i was using fruity loops. but i can't bring myself to spend any money of the full version, so i need a better (read as "free") version.. otherwise i can't save any of the loops i create, and thus will continue to waste my time.

any suggestions?

fruity loops is very good, check out alpha blue, rb2k1 on this forums, he makes it all in fruity, and his stuff rocks,
it is teh musical mind, more than teh software, just because you have reason, doesnt mean you are going to be good
