Gatecrasher Is No More
heavily rumoured to be having their final event at their club on may 16....
part of the reasons for teh closure simon raine thinking hes getting too old for this sort of stuff..scott bond tired of his residency there and ben thompson leaving....who is a big fuckin loser anywayz (Not that ive met him but all my mates in the uk who dj and are part of clubs reckon so anywayz)
I assume the label will still continue
you're only talking about the club night right?
Umm this is pretty fuckin big news.
I refuse to believe, the lion will always be with me!
CRASHER KIDS UNITE!
why not get new staff to run the place, or new dj's ?
dont quite understand this one.
all this bad news lately
makes me wonder where exactly trance is heading..
If this is true,
I hope there not going to blame this on mp3z too,
or maybe something similar that not enough ppl are coming to the club compared to the pub down the road
but then again they may feel they've acheived everything Gatecrasher possibly could have in it's time and now it's time to move on to a greener pastures.

This is a big rumour and there no evidence yet so innocent to proven guilty scanario. but would be very suprised at they have merchandise (cd's etc) worth millions in global sales plus the name, reputaton etc which all adds up to mega big bucks. Where would the Gatecrasher residents be without it??? probably banging away in their bedrooms as most of them dont have many successful producitons under their belts (with theexception of Scott Bond) who to my knowledge only recently did the 3rd Earth collaboration. But this is interesting news if there is any substance to it......

I'll do my bit to keep the dream alive by taking over scott bond's residency. It's hard but someone's gotta do it.

When I was over in the UK last year. IU was primed to go to gate crasher but upon arrivl and shit it just didn't seem as large and it was going monthly and slinky in Bristol was shuttting and the whole scene seemed to be fading away.
The passion left cause the same guys each week and people were bored at least in our scene in melb it changes week to week month to month I mean weekly clubs just aren't working as well anymore because consumers are more discerning these days and want/need variety prolly the reason the genres have cross over crowds too...
did I cover enough topics then? sorry just needed pointless rant away from the purists
Damn I hope not, it'd be a shame to have a whole tonne of people bitching about how "back in the days of GateCrasher everything was so much better, ..." without ever having been able to personaly get there and see it for myself.
