jon O'bir. i'm inspired.

i'm sure everybody's heard of jon O'bir by now, but having just read the story behind ta's resident "godskitchen" dj, i have to say i'm truly inspired. only havin bought his first pair of decks 2 years ago, and not havin a proper gig since, he took a plunge at a dj comp and "voila", not only did he win to warm up for joof, he was noticed by fergie to suddenly have a spot on his show on radio 1 [which u can download in Ta's download section].. since then, its been all uphil beginning with residency at gods kitchen. to think, the guy was only mixing in his bedroom a mere few months ago. only 19, i'm sure we'll be seeing and of course HEARING great things from this prodigy.

will definitely be looking forward to catchin him if he's makin the trip down with mike, joof n marco v [is that rite?] later in the year. meanwhile i'm goin to head to bed and dream the dream that this lucky boy is currently living out!

i read something about this guy in iDJ or something like that recently. Basically he works in a food store (fruit shop) or something by day catches athe train home and then plays at Godskitchen by nite. I think he is playing the warm-up set there atm. His ment to be pretty good too actually. I think it was a similiar story with Eddie Halliwell (Gatecrasher) resident. He basically had the skills (mixing and scratching) and got lucky. Sometimes it happens!! but you definitely got to have the skills and confidence to play to such a crowd (so his no fluke). But dont forget at lastcount I think there were like 8,000 bedroom dj's in Australia although this is just a loose figure I heard. Its like tattaslotto!!

8,000 bedroom dj's in aus is it? a growing number too i'd assume, tho its proly much less than in the uk. i think a lot of it has to do with your style too. to produce something different, something fresh to be noticed. not bangin the same tunes as everybody else. *grin* time to find the hidden gems that time's forgot!
