Robert Miles is (was) a one-hit wonder

Children is his only GREAT track, IMHO. Of course, there are other good tracks on his CDs, but they're just... bleak... when compared to Children.

Well, okay -- the way I hear it, most of the other tracks on that first album sounded a LOT like "Children", i.e. trancey pulsing with a piano and whatnot. "Fable" being another single and "One and One" being like a variation on that theme, and soforth. That album is gold for what it represents since that sound has become so influential over the years, but the reality is that according to Roberto Concina himself, he didn't want to regurgitate the same stuff over and over and his following albums have shown some HUGE strides in creativity, while not appealing to the mass audience of his 1st album.

Now he is deep into world fusion with live instrumentation fused with electronics which is technically beyond anything he has done before -- but obviously, the simple, memorable melody of "Children" lives on and on and on... and that is why I give it the highest recognition as a "trance cliche" (as heard below ).

Sorry, but I think that's bullshit. Tracks like Red Zone, Improvisations and Paths are way more interesting and creative than Children, which is so sentimental and syrupy that my teeth almost fall out when I hear it (The Tilt Mix is gorgeous though)

I honestly can't tell these tracks apart .. you could play them back to back and I wouldn't know which one was which (apart from the bit with the chick going "tell me a fable" )

Children is a good track, but sounds very dated now. Much too simple and not as heavily processed as most of today's trance.

Sorry But these HEAVILY PROCESSED TRACKS TODAY SUCK BIG TIME. Of course there are a few good ones. Are you also gonna tell me tracks like xpandar suck because they are simple? Maby people have to stop trying to produce soo complicated, because most aren't good at it. A good simple melody goes a long way.
