IMO I don't really remember too many quality records coming from Moonshine...they always seem really cheesy and commercialized trance garbage, so thats my guess as to why they went out. A lot of EDM lables went out at one point, only the labels putting out real quality stuff survived.

Went bankrupt, far as I know. Such a shame, too, as they used to have tons of quality underground material from all sorts of genres in the mid-90's. That's what happens when you try to go commercial, though.

I actually never bought any moonshine vinyl, but i sure do miss the mixed live series....
I like how they color coordinated their vinyl based on the genre you were looking for. Blue=Trance, Red=i forget and Green=I forget as well.
and yeah I did like their mixed live series. Two of my favorite Moonshine albums are the Moby & Sven Vath liveCD and POSITIVE ENERGY album.

Oh and this comes as a surprise to me. I didn't even know they went bankrupt. How long ago did they file?

I'm not 100% certain it was bankruptcy, but they did close down early 2004, and I've heard it was due to that.
Or they merged with DJMixed.com (click for the Moonshine website, you get a link to DJMixed.com) but I never heard of any dealing to that extent. They did have a semi-partnership for a while, though.
The last CD Moonshine put out was Ferry Corsten's Right Of Way. Haha! You could say his artist album killed that label! Ahahah! Ahahahahahahaha!!!!! Hehehe... hoo...

Actually, he's pretty right. Moonshine turned commercial trance towards the end of their tenure. Probably what did them in, really.
