Christopher Lawrence artist album "All or Nothing" out this week

Just go this from the Christopher Lawrence newsletter - am going to pick it up and will post review.

Christopher Lawrence
Debut artist album 'All or Nothing'
In Stores - Tuesday June 29th, 2004

“America’s favorite trance DJ kicks some dance-floor ass. 4 out of 5 stars!”
- URB Magazine

"A strong, sweeping vision. 4 Stars."
- Raves.com

"Well produced and masterfully energetic”
- Cool Junkie

“Christopher Lawrence has conquered the global circuit”
- Remix Magazine

When a DJ / producer has achieved the highest accolades and press acclaim in his own country and abroad, what is left?

The release of his debut artist album All or Nothing.

Christopher Lawrence has released a string of successful singles overseas but the time has come for his full length domestic artist debut, All or Nothing (KinkyBeat / Pharmacy Electronic Music). For Christopher, the title sums up his view towards life – “you only have one chance and life is what you make of it. My view is it’s all or nothing. If you’re not going to do your best, you might as well not do it.”

If early reviews are anything to go by, All or Nothing may well be the American electronic album of the year. Magazines from URB to Remix have already declared the album as one of the year’s best, with consistent ratings of four starts and higher, the high praise continues to roll in from press at home and abroad.

From the ambient chilled out ‘New Day’ to the pumping beats of ‘Saboteur’ and the moody, ethereal vocals of ‘Freefall’ (music video out soon), All Or Nothing is a journey through a vast electronic landscape which draws on trance, techno, progressive, breaks and house for influence.

All Or Nothing features twelve tracks, two of which were previously released as U.K. singles (‘Renegade’ and ‘Rush Hour’) and two of which were released as U.S. singles on Moonshine (‘Mind Eraser’ and ‘October’s Child’). Christopher worked with acclaimed DJ / producer Dave Audé on four tracks including the first two singles ‘Saboteur’ and ‘Hot Rod’. DJ/producer BK (Ben Keen) from the U.K. who scored the trance hit ‘Revolution’ (Nukleuz) collaborated with Christopher on ‘Warp’. Also from the U.K, producer Chris Cowie of Hook/Bellboy fame collaborated on several tracks including ‘New Day’. Vocalists are Camille Kramer and Laura Derby.

When he first started writing his own music, Christopher saw it as a way to make the album no one else had made but he knew was out there. He also saw it as a way to give back to the scene. As for the cyclical nature of trends in dance music, Christopher subscribes to the old adage that once something becomes mainstream or trendy, people shy away from it. He believes that electronic music has gone deeper and darker, miles away from the cheesy Euro stuff of the late 90s and early 2000s. According to him, “Electronic music now is the best ever, it’s becoming more underground.”

Thanks for the heads up! I shall definitely be getting this in the near future.
