Godskitchen global gathering cd was so so...the trance cd was great track wise, but the mixing was horrid, not even "real" mixing cus there were 18 or some odd tracks jam-packed onto 1 cd...I mean come on, the mix out of tiesto adagio into sun is shining is as horribly disrespectful as burning a flag. I bought it for the cloudwalking 2004 track really as well as the possibility of hearing some awesome breaks on CD3. About that: I love the dreamy atmospheric breaks like Hybrid, Luke Chable etc....this was hip hop-ish breaks style. I won't say it's horrible, but it is very much NOT my taste...so that was disappointing.
Also, as I continue to rant , Ahead was something I desperately sought after to buy....took 7 stores before someone found me a copy (AND THIS WAS IN THE UK....NOT IN THE US...I THOUGHT THEY'D BE ALL OVER THE PLACE!!!) SO finally, after all the "who the hell is Scott Bond?" and "Ahead? Doesn't ring a bell" I got my copy. I was smiling and laughing at the ridiculousness of the first mix into White room...wow was that awesome! But after that, I quickly lost interest...I already had the tracks I liked on the album, and they sounded funny on the cd anyways. What happened with Robert Nickson - Spiral??? It sound like he seriously cut the mid range as it was building up. I couldn't pull out the rest of the track besides the pounding bass line! Maybe it was a problem w/ my cd, but my copy of spiral on my mix cd sounded way better than the one on Ahead. And the mix out of it into F Massive??? With all that weird sound effect crap at the end of the big line in Spiral? TERRIBLE! Then I heard that awful Cohen vs. Deluxe track, man did was that bad! What an awesome techno track completely ruined. So yeah, wasn't a fan of Ahead...specially when I quickly put in disk 2 to find happiness in Hybrid - Higher than a Skyscraper only to find out that he mixed out before it gets going...total bummer.
Back on topic, best mix cd so far??? I don't know yet...I really want to check out Sasha - Involver...even though it's not TECHNICALLY a "mix" cd...more of a rework album, but I hear it is absolutely MINT! Most stuff has disappointed me lately, including Armin's mixing on the ASOT album. He actually did the same mix I do between Super 8 Alba and Satellite...only, (if you knew me personally, You would know that this is the only time I ever give myself any credit in life whatsoever) my way of doing it was much much better.
Hopefully my fav mix cd is still on the way!

James zabiela - Alive

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a saltshaker half-full of cocaine, and a whole galaxy of uppers, downers, laughers, screamers... Also, a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether, and two dozen amyls. Not that we needed all that for the trip, but once you get into a serious drug collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can. The only thing that really worried me was the ether. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge, and I knew we'd get into that rotten stuff pretty soon.
