If you could introduce someone new to trance who would the DJ or artist be?

If you could introduce someone new to trance who would the DJ or artist be?

You have a friend and you want them to listen to some great tracks to get them addicted to the genre.

Who would the DJ or artist be that you could show them what Trance is all about. You don't have to answer for just Trance, it could be for EDM in general.

What live sets or studio albums would you choose?

I'd just let them hear Global Trancemissions 01 and if they liked it i'd give it to them and say "Here, take Magik 6, Summerbreeze, TPOD, ISOS 2&3, and every other one of my crappy trance CD's as well."

James Zabiela. No point in fluffing things up.

For trance ... Markus Schulz
For EDM in general I find Sasha wins people over, they find more in his mixes that they can associate with what they see as "real" music

i think if your introducing someone into trance for the first time, especially someone that hasnt heard trance before, you need to ease them in gently. A girl in my workplace wants me to bring in an album for her so she can see the music i like, so i thought of Armins '76' Album. Its got some nice tracks which have been played on UK radio and has a touch of commercialism about it in that its more commercially acceptable than say Tiestos In Search of Sunrise albums, to the average listener at home.

Tracks like Burned With Desire and Yet Another Day are great to ease people into the genre, then theres the classics like Communication and Blue Fear, and lets face it, i reckon 90% of trance fans see those 2 as classics, all in all, a good album to introduce someone into the genre

Suprisingly good list here. I might give them some Nick Warren instead of Astral Projection though.

For girls, PVD, Armin, and Ferry Corsten (The last 2 with pictures attached).

Good, i agree with u.
I'll start off with whatever that is popular & melodic ones then slowly once he/she gets the kick of it (at this point she roughly knows how trance is like), I'll start upping the quality and down the catchyness(this is where the cheese toppings are imo) of the songs. Well, of cause there are some tracks that are both good and catchy.

I personally won't introduce ppl like Zabiela, BT, Astral Projection etc to someone who wants to get a 'quick start' to trance. Not that they're lousy, but they're more for 'matured' trancers imo. People will start running away from Trance once they find it boring, 'repetive'. Feed them with sweet melodies
