Ayumi Hamisaki

I've been told by a friend at work that he/she is actually very good. Now im not talking about the remixes I mean the originals. I was thinking about buying the album as a stab in the dark sort of thing however its best I consult u lot first methinks.

All opinions welcomed

Is it trance or what?

i think the originals of Ayu's work is a load of guff. Luckily we hav artists like Push, Dumonde, Above & Beyond, Airwave, etc. who come along and make these shite tracks into masterpieces. But imo Ayu's work is just a load of crappy pop with annoying cheesy vocals.. Blerrgh!!!

this is a pretty biased opinion...considering the only thing people ever listen to here is trance. ayumi hamasaki's original work is awesome, but of course it's japanese pop music so people here are gonna be naturally ignorant about it. If you compare who work to some of the nasty shit here in america like britney spears, christina aguilera, n'sync, etc, you'd see a difference..but oh well.

The fact that the guy is asking about Ayumi Hamasaki on a trance board leads me to assume that he reakons she is a trance artist. I was just pointing out its cheesy pop and not trance. And i happen to find her original work with those vocals extremely crap, and would welcome britney spears over her any day. Its not just America that gets artists such as "britney spears, christina aguilera, n'sync" u no

I think she has a very cute voice, but that's just me. I personally think her songs have a little bit of electronic influence and her sound is a bit more diverse than that of many American pop artists. Just my opinion.

She makes jpop as it was said earlier and I think you should get some mp3s of hers to judge for yourself. I mean thats what mp3s are for right?

I don't know anything from Ayumi Hamisaki, but Ayumi Hamasaki, is one of the best singers I'v ever seen Just teasing Anyway, Ayu's work is really good, I love her original stuff. Here are my top-3 favourites:

Ayumi Hamasaki - Endless sorrow (one of the most beautiful melodies I've ever heard and the BEST lyrics ever )

Ayumi Hamasaki - Evolution (very catchy and the lyrics are excellent as well)

Ayumi Hamasaki - M (very different from what we usually here... quite original, I'd say. A curious thing about this song is that she composed the melody too)

If you're looking for more info on her, visit this site: http://ayumi.yoll.net/main.html

That's where I get news from her and stuff. Plus, you'll find the translation of her lyrics, so you'll understand why I like it so much

edit: No, it's not trance, it's j-pop. However, her songs are better than lots of things from some "trance gods", believe me
