I have to agree with you, and to be honest I couldn't really care less that there's been threads like this before...
Currently I'm listening to Armin van Buuren 7 Hour Set at Club Eau - that was only about 2 and a half years ago, but you can tell that it's still miles better than anything done more recently.
Not to say that there aren't good tracks anymore, or that the quality of DJing has dropped, but just that I don't enjoy the newer stuff. With the older sets you can start dreaming and lose yourself in the melodic trance, but unfortunately I don't get that feeling anymore. I guess all types of music just has to move on, and I think the golden years for trance (late 90's, early 00's) have been and gone!

First your on COR, here is where you talk about how cool you are if your drunk. Or what to do if 3 girls are hitting on you. Or even put a picture of your self here, asking people if you are beautiful and even explaining that you have a disease and thats why your overweight, but the same picture contains a big fat pizza.
If anything that dies here, it is humanity. |
haha sorry my bad i dont have a gf yet

and i must agree with you, if i listen to tracks from like 2000/2001 the latest! i start drifting off, like what a feeling! amazing, but now, its just bla, so boring, and just the other day i tried djing, and what do i realize? half my songs are prog! which means the BPM is 132! like WTF! i wanna mix trance not prog, 140 Bpm!!!

There are weekly 'is trance dying' threads Gingi, you know that.
Now, this isn't my idea, but one I borrowed from another is trance dying thread. Trance is rapidly going downhill because no one is doing anything new. Anyone who can crack fruity loops, reason, cubase, logic, and other software can easily make tunes that sound just like the newest ASOT release. This leads to alot of tracks that sound the same. Additionally, many of these people using cracked software have no background in music theory, so they just copy melodies, tones, and keys from existing trance songs. This leads to even less diversity. Finayll, there has been a HUGE collection of midi packages circling the next for the last 3 years. This collection continuously grows and is chock full of "classics" (aka the shit everyone liked 4-7 years ago). Since many of today's producers cant develop a melody themselves, it's way to easy to make a drum line, develop a few generic sounds and throw them over an existing song's MIDI structure.
