I just downloaded the mix from DJ2K the other day and then I notice it's available here. I am currently in the process of listening to the mix from DJ2K and am aware that it's not the best of quality.
My question: Is the set posted on this site from a different source/encoder whatever cos I'd like to have this mix at it's best not the substandard one I have.......

PS Fox - How ya doin? Soz, PvD didn't come to 'meet the crowd' at GC-NEC so couldn't get the auto. Anyways I'm seeing him on Dec 8th and will get another chance then. :-) His set was wicked though and left even me breathless - scratching AND wicked spinbacks like u never heard - I reckon he plays different in different parts of the world.....

And Another Thing!!!!!
This set sounds very fast! I wasn't there (one of the rare few times I haven't seen him play :-( ) Does anyone agree it may have been speeded up by Ministry Of Sound Radio??

hehe yes. it's kinda fast and i love it!
u been lost JArv. i will be on icq... so check me there.
No* There is no way in hell that Min of Sound radio would or could do that. Can you saw Lawsuit?
And to tell you the truth, I don't find it that much faster. Some dj's get carried away with the pitch, and once you start, you can't stop! haha It's hard to slow it down, ya know what I mean.
I find Tiesto gets stuck in that trap all the time. And because of his love for vocals, he ends up mini-mousing a lot of tracks. PVD is sick in this set.
I bought Deep Dish's GU and I was loving it, but after hearing this set I want to throw the GU in the garbage. haha PVD I LOVE YOU!
When I mentioned quality I was talking about the sound quality - not PvDs mixing (which will never be substandard!!)
Anyone know wether the one on this site is any different cos I'm only a 56k man and it'll take a fair while to work it out for myself....
Ministry could and would speed up a set, it'd never be a problem, I mean all they were probably doing was fitting a 2 hour set into a 1 hour 50 gap in the programme. It's not a big legal thing (not over here anyway).

I highly doubt MOS would increase the speed just to fit it into a one-hour session..van Dyk always increases the intensity of his sets by playing at a faster pitch..its amazing..dj's know its so much harder to mix at a higher pitch than a low one...this set is sickening, very similar to what i heard live in Boston....peace.

not necessarily
in fact it really has nothing to do it. =))
*just being the devils advocate*
I rekon I've heard more sets live (by that I mean being there looking into his eyes!!) by PvD than most, about 30, and I have never heard him play that fast - I pick up on these things very easily.
It is definately not out of the question that MOS would speed it up for whatever reason - but I rekon it's speeded up.
And I agree with what another person said on this site, the ripper did a piss poor job - the quality is very bad!
By the way Visions of PVD: I read something u wrote once about PvD and I thought it made so much sense I wrote it as a quote at the end of a letter I gave him a few weeks back...... it went like this:
Begin Quote
PS Someone once wrote:
"I didnt miss any of his magical appearances at Twilo (R.I.P.).travelling to Boston and even Amsterdam, i realized that this man realizes something in people and somehow is able to bring out the emotions within us..."
I agree

i guess it very easily could be sped up, its not illegal as some have mentioned, US radio does it all the time! if it is sped up much tho, it would be totally obvious which i dont think it is. voices would be high pitched and it would be most likely faster than one of tiestos fast sets, which i dont think it is. as for speeding it up to fit it an HOUR show, i really doubt. how would you lose 50 mins of a set just by speeding it up? thats like happy hardcore or some shit! late/
