Love Avex Trance Rave 2002 Spring In Messe *Review*

omg where do i begin.... lastnight was by far the best party ive ever been to (and ive been to more than couple parties with bigline up hehehe). the biggest party ive ever been, to say the least. 50,000 ppl and not to sound like im braggin but imo this avex event that i went to bypass Gatecrasher NEC by far ehehhehehe

the line up included: Dave 202 & Phil Green, Rank 1, Push, Hennes & Cold, Lab 4, Space Frog, DJ Shinkawa, Yoji Biohemanika, Johan Gielen, and last but not least, Ferry Corsten

regretfully there were two different stages and cuz the time overlaped i didnt get the chance to see Hennes & Cold, Lab-4 and Spacefrog.

my night was so fuckin amazin and i can go on forever talkin about it so i will only mention the highlights... prolly the ones u ppl may be most intersted in

Push... omg... i died he started off his set with Space Brothers - Everywhere I Go (Push Transcendental Vocal Mix). his mixing was so TIGHT! regretfully, i wasnt SOO familiar w/ all of push productions and wut not so i cant really ID wut he played hehehe but i do remember hearing Universal Nation , Strange World, and The Legacy. that alone should say how amazing his 75mins set was

Rank 1 Live... just beautiful. the music they create live is just stunning and ud never be able to tell that it wasnt the actual vinyl they were messsing with they played 60mins of beautiful blissful music as was heard at Trance energy 2002 they played Such Is Life, Airwave 2002 and tunes off their recently released album.

Johan Gielen... He stole the show with his amazing track selections and his well showcased charisma he interacted with the crowd like no others. i think those of u who have seen him spin or do PA with Sven Maes as Airscape would know wut im talking about but he can make every single person in the audience feel like they are getting a private show. so much enthusiasm as he spins. ive seen him twice and can clearly say that no other Dj nor live acts can work the crowd like he does. mebbe the japanese crowd has a soft spot for him and viceversus. but, he definitly has a special touch with the crowd. i even say he can work the crowd even better than tiesto (and yes ive seen him spin ) Gielen had the crowd orgasming for the full 75mins that he was the man on the stage and esp when buildsup with tunes like Twisted and The Beauty Of Silence. :d
heres the tracklisting for his set i missed the first 10mins of his set so... ID there... orders rae prolly wrong but...:

01. ID
02. ID
03. ID
04. Human Evolution - Human Evolution
05. Members of Mayday - 10 in 1 (PvD Club Mix)
06. Marco V. - G.O.D.D (Original Vocal Mix)
07. Airscape - L'Esperanza (Original mix)
08. Svenson & Gielen - Twisted (Original Mix)
09. Mauro Picotto - Pulsar 200 (Verdi/Tiesto mix)
10. DJ Tiesto - Lethal Industry (Svenson & Gielen mix)
11. Svenson & Gielen - Beauty Of Silence (Energy Mix)
12. Yoji Biohemanika - Ding A Ling (DJ Scot Project Remix)
13. Lexicon 4 - Reach Me (Svenson & Gielen Mix)
14. Tenth Planet - Walk On Water (?mix)

i know im missing one or two but screw that.lol.. u dont need those tunes to know wut a superb set this was... i was in a state of shock when i heard him drop L'esperanza.. the balearic Classic.,,so blissful the good ol days of trance also when he played Reach me he gestured the crowd to get their lighters out and start a light show himself included. omg.. that was just beautiful and made me nearly shed tears of joy and amazement. that song has always had a spot in my heart but now more than ever it seems so significant :d words really cant explain the extravaganza(ness) of this set. in the words of starf0x, I cRY i CRY I DIE I DIE 10millX

Ferry Corsten... i was abit dissapointed in his set... though he had a great trackselection, no new trance. mebbe he did that on purpose so that he can promote his own music in japan... the clubhoppers here literally worship him heheh. oddly enough, i highly praise ferry as well. not just as a trend follower but for his artistic skillz. maybe that was why i was a tad dissapointed in his set. ive heard him do much better even though he didnt seem to be in a bad mood. he was intreacting with the crowd fair enough but.. his set wasnt as fluid as the last time i saw him. for some odd reason he played 3 mini sets and an encore throughout his 75mins... i seriously have no clue as to y he decided to do that but i didnt like it at all. i think all sets should have at least some continuity anyhow, another negativity i found in this particular set of his was that he had either the voulme up way too high or the bass.. the music was echoing though the place and so the quality of the music was sorta shitty. but anyhow heres wut i picked up outa his set...

01. ID
02. Lost Tribe - Gamemaster (Signum Remix)
03. Ocean Lab - Clear Blue Water (Ferry Corstem Remix)
04. System F & Ayu - Connected Tenshi <--- ayu voice over *The love i lost*
05. ID
====================
06. System F - Out Of The Blue 2002
07. Jose Amnesia - The Eternal (Pusler Remix)
08. Ultra- Free (Airscape Remix)
09. Ransom - My Dance (Ferry Corstem Remix)
10. Veracocha - Carte Blanche
====================
11. Gouryella - Tenshi
12. Eon - Pocket Damage
13. Ferry Corsten - Punk
====================
14. System F - Dance Valley Theme 2001
15. System F - Out Of The Blue 2002

the only part of his set that really pleased me was the first segment... where he dropped Gamemaster and mixed in the following tunes.. i was actually really impressed that he would play such a classic. some of u may like his trackselections but ive heard sets done by him that is MUCH better than this one. its not a bad set. jut a dissapointing one,.. comin from Ferry. i havent lost faith just yet though

anyhow, all in all, last night was one of the most amazing night of my life and maybe very much so for trance as well . benno & piet and Gielen and Ferry had their picture taken right before ferry got in the spotlight hehehe since the event was sponsored by avex and many other major corporate company, this was a massive event and the sound system were superb. CG effects, visuals, Lasershows..absolutly stunning. foams, bubles, gas filled bubbles, confettis, smoke machine. all the extras were beyond belief. the music was blissful and all the preformers excelled in stealing the hearts of the clubbers and though i tend to be agains parties which gain major attention from the mainstream crowds, this was def worth it. and though allt he muscles in my body aches like mad, i must admit, i dont regret dancing too much

for all u reading this. sorry if this post makes no sense at all.. its alil after noon the day after and i have yet to get sleep just try ur best in making sense of this gibberish thank u

yeah i was so surprised to see that someone from TA actually went to this. I am so jealous too, you dont know how bad i wanted to go. its not so often that you here about a good show in Japan which is propably why you dont ever here much about Japan here @ TA. but its better that its not so commercial in a way. especially being a foreigner. it just makes you feel like your at an exclusive rave. but man you have no idea how bad i wanted to be there. i dont doubt that you enjoyed at all, i love the scene out here in Japan. Im gonna go see Dj Shinkawa this weekend (4.20, odd #), i cant wait.
but yeah about that Cyber Trance @ Messe, which one did you like more BanginGlobe or Avex Trax? its not so often that Japan gets very many good Djs from other countries.
but i could go on and on about the scene out here..
but you can see how happy i am that somebody actually was there, i was beginning to think i was the only one that realized how great it was gonna be. imglad you had a good time. Lates

hehe i think the one reason that not many ppl from japan comes heres is due to the language barrier. and trust me it was nothing undergroud the party... sponsored by Avex / Puma ... it was a very commercial event w/ 50000 ppl (many non-japanese incl.) but yet all the promotion and sponsoring that went into effect was worth it, at least i think, b/c of the fabulous lineup and the outcomes of the party im not sure about where u are but in tokyo, ud be amazed at how many famous DJs come to spin each month. mebbe not all trance DJs but many great DJS often i find myself contemplating whether or not to go to an event or reserve that money for a different party as u must well know, clubbing in japan never comes too cheap. just since the beginning of this month (past 2wks) the DJs thats been through town are:
*Nigel Dawnson
*Danny Howells
*Simon Foy
*Dumonde (Both Jam X & De Leon)
*Johan Gielen
*Marco V

^^^ all DJs that played outside the Avex Rave. including all those who did perform @ avex rave... Rank 1, Push, Ferry Corsten, Hennes & Cold, Dave 202 & Phil Green, Spacefrog, Lab-4... etc! and lets not forget to mention that these are only the DJs that im familair with also im sure that above & beyond, ferry corsten and more are gonna be through the counrty later this moneth :d personally i think that quite an impressive line up, and we are more than lucky to get such grand acts im quite sure that not too many places can compare to Japan, Tokyo in particular, when it comes to the club scene but i cant deny being envious of the dutch and the brits for the countless massive events that takes place in their country lol

Thanks a lot! No problem for the tracklists, we'll see what we'll do with them... I'll work on this review during next days and I'll tell you when it's finished...!

Now I have to find pics, so if someone had pics from this party or another one in Tôkyô Velfarre, it would be really nice to send them to me please!
Thanks in advance, and thanks again to you BLuEOcEaN420! You can't imagine how much I'm envious of you!
