Switch to classic (from the dropdown). Either go to http://soundcloud.com/tags/trance?order=latest, or click on Latest (right under "Explore / Tags / ").
| quote: | | A lot of people when they tag their tracks add: House, techno, tech, trance, hardcore, electro, armin van buuren, david guetta. And more often than not this is the kind of people you should avoid. | You're probably aware, but each track has a "most important" tag, the one that's shown by default. In my experience, it's almost always trance-related. EDIT: I think that's the genre description, not the first tag.
| quote: | | Even if you find real trance tracks do you think you've made a pre-selection? No, great music represents a niche percentage of the total you'll have to listen to 100 tracks to find 3 really valuable ones. | True. Like you said, you could follow artists you like, but it takes time to find really good tracks (since you shouldn't just go by what's popular unless you want pop trance)
| quote: | | First results would be often disappointing, i don't know what's the criteria of the SC algoryhtm but probably apart from the latest tracks, followers, and existent plays take part on it, you'll see the results of the suckers that follow 10,000 people and have 3,000 followers first, instead of the underground producer with 400 active followers. | Latest actually means latest. Most first-page tracks I see have less than three plays and were posted between 20 and 40 minutes ago.
