REVIEW: Talla 2XLC @ Viva

well i came in a bit late for talla, aroudn 3.40. and he was dropping a wicked tune as i was coming in. and he just kept them coming. he had some really nice mixes with songs which sounded great. after, drag n fly started to spin aroudn 4.30 and he really put on some hard stuff. kinda different from wat i like, but it was still awesome to dance to.

the place was pretty full when i came in. the usual ppl standing around the sides all stoned. near the dj booth, ppl were ripping it up though, as was i . during talla, i saw tordan and then introduced me to loca and loconet (sry i didnt get ur names guys, btw im alex ). it was very nice meeting all of u. and thx again for the drive back ben!!!

only thing that i didnt like is the thing with the water. first of all, 3.75 for a 281mL bottle is ridiculous. when i came, i brought my own bottle, sealed up. but security took it away then second, there was not a lot of air in the club during some parts which made it hard to dance

over all the night was amazing. great lighting work Jay!!!!

I got to viva around 12:30am. Place wasnt really packed then, and the dj was playing some good tunes. There was enough place to dance so it was good. The second dj came on (no idea who he is, asian dude with spikey hair). Didn't enjoy his set at all, except for the fact he dropped nirvana and born slippy Otherwise didnt find his set very flowing at all.

Talla came on around 2:30am and he played a fairly hard set, it was pumping. The bass at viva was a bit too loud for me but overall it was good. There were enough pitstops for us to catch our breath and then go nuts again

After talla it was drag n fly and his set was pretty hard too. Left around 5:30

Overall a good night out.

But yea the water was ridiculously priced.

You are very welcome about the picture!!!

I feel much better that at least some people realized there was equipment problem, and that definitely caused alot of difficulty when I came on. And "yes", I went home and brought my table so Talla could drop that wicked set.

Besides the equipment problem, I had a great time on or off the decks!!!

Happy New Year, guys!!!

Man, that was a sick fuckin party! Talla was incredible! I had high expectations after downloading some of his sets; he met them and then some! He kept dropping awesome hard mixes of many of my old favorites, one after the other. Holy fuck, a tech-trance mix of Take Me Away? DAYM! Only wish his set was longer! Missing the first 45 minutes didn't help either. Arggh! But yea, wicked night still! Those of you complaining about the price on water should have just asked the bartender to give it to you in cups. Me and my girl got like 6 big cups throughout the night and didn't pay a cent.

I had planned on going to Boa then changed to Systems on the 31st but ended up at Viva. Loca, loconet, a friend and I got there around 3 and Talla was already pumping out some awesome trance tunes. Track of the night has to be a remix of for an angel with lyrics from silence. Drag n fly came on after him and kept us moving until close around 7.

Viva wasn't as packed as I thought it would be and there was plenty of room to dance. The vibe was pretty good and everyone (who wasn't too fucked up on drugs) was having a great time. We met some TA lurkers and some kids just getting into the scene. It's refreshing to meet people so excited about trance and wanting to do all the big clubs and events. It was nice meeting smuncky for the first time and also running into d!abolic and his girl. My first time spending NYE @ Viva and I had an awesome time.

Hey Ben...I was looking out for you at BOA and when Schryer showed up I thought for SURE you'd be there...oh well..I was SOO tempted to go to VIVA instead & I think that NEXT time I should go with my gut instinct.

SUCKS. Two tracks like that are both CLASSICS should never be remixed in that way imo.
For a revolt is better.
