Nope....nothing you can do. Its considered a collision claim and therefore you must pay your deductible.

edit: as there is no other vehicle involved and you have no idea who put the debris on the road you are basically up shit creek without a paddle.

yeah, if you don't want to pay the deducible you have to pay higher premiums from the beginning. that's how insurance works.

Yeah pretty much you have to pay for your deductable. Even if it means $1200 in total, you wil be paying for the first $1000.

I was actually just rear ended on saturday in a tim hortons parking lot. my brother came to pick me up and as he was slowing down to a stop in the parking lot some goof wasnt looking and was backing out of his spot then rear ended my bumper. no major damage but he messed up my bumper. The idiot didnt clean off his rear view window, and completely disregarded looking in any mirrors.

Although it is a big hassle going through insurance and filing a claim, its something totally unnecessary.

It depends on your insurance package. Clearly it is a no fault clause, but your not getting out of paying the deductable. Unless, you have a one time no fault clause setup with you insurance company, most people do. Your insurance company should be reimbursing you for the tow.

Totally correct here. You really should have seen it with the headlights. But then again even by the time you see it your not going to swerve to avoid it.

You are def SOL. Insurance companies don't give a shit about you, just about your money.

Question though, why the hell did you waste money on a tow? It sounds like the car was drivable?

i agree, either not paying enough attention or overdriving your headlights, but there is sufficient lighting on the gardiner so probably the former.
