well, i would still pay high taxes than live in a country such as the US

Jayx1 I don't know what you are complaining about.. I'm currently living in California - state with one of the largest GDPs in the world. And.. cost of living is MUCH more expensive than in Toronto; taxes, while slighly lower are still very high; and finally it's almost impossible to afford a house. Also half the population lives very poorly.

So stop ya bitchin' and enjoy living in Canada.

I'd rather have a "surprise" surplus than a deficit...besides, reform is underway from independent sources to ensure more accurate and reliable prognostication for future budgets.

If the Liberals ended up with a lower surplus (or a deficit), everyone would be calling them fiscally incompetent...now there's a much larger surplus and they're liars and deceivers, "cheating" people out their tax money

I know that there was some controversy/bitching about the surplus being more than predicted, but I am simply furious that the surplus is A) WITHHELD from the provinces.. thereby allowing our beloved social services to deteriorate B) Not applied to the deficit

I think the reason the "surplus" is mis-cast, is because they simply have been hogging the tax money instead of putting it back into the country as expected..

surplus = over taxation

pay off the debt or give it back to me. Or at the very least buy some subs that are seaworthy.
