Thumbs up Church Street Review January 7/8 2006

After meeting up with Drew (Endgame) and Dannie (Tamiko) at the corner of Bloor and Yonge we headed out for a few drinks along Church Street - first stop Babylon - which was a bust because it is now closed (too bad - was a nice Martini bar that played some of the best house music in the village).

So we head to Byzantium - Wikkid place - nice ambience and awesome bar staff - we had a barrage of various Martini's (attention to detail is key here - each drink was a masterpiece of art) and had an awesome taster of pita/flatbreads and various tapanades and dips and equisite calamari - good music was played - nice tribal house and its various offsprings - Cajjmere Wray came on at 11:00 (Vinyl Junkies - Smirfnoff finalist this year) and met a diverse group of people - even Bill Graham (former Minister of Foreign Affairs - tis campaign season - great guy! - pictures what what?!?!).

After an exciting night of drinks and chance meetings (sexy bitches - get all the attention!) we headed to Lub for an hour or so - Neill MacLeod was spinning some nice house beats with the right amount of vocals and dirty tribal beats - we were teh dancing - having a good time.

A nice variation on venues and ample time for good conversations made tonight a fun night out.

There is a world of people out there from all walks of life and perspectives - what an awesome way to bring in the New Year with 2 good friends - Drew and Dannie - you guys rock - thanks for coming out to my world for a bit and experiencing some fun times ala a cast of characters - you would rival to find anywhere else!

WOOT WOOT!

Martini glasses are disposable - Revs are warranted - Black Orchids are sacred and rare.

2006 in the MIX!

Muahhhhhhh.......

Come on Sean you were just getting started there...I thought I was going to read a full on Church Street night complete with Woody's, Buddies and of course finishing off your morning at Fly (after all you gotta keep the stereotype going).

You should have considered doing it on a Friday so they could have caught Sidney at 5ive as well.

I also agree that Drew and Dannie are good peeps.

LOL!

true enough....

but work schedules and such warranted a Saturday night out - thought about Woody's but we were having such a good time at Byzantium we didn't wanna leave......

Now FLY - LOL! that would have been an experience and the Car Wash crew would have been a bit over the top for what we had planned.

Too many funny little stories - we even met a mysterious girl named Naomi!

We'll do it up again - baby steps.....baby steps.....Jay

WOOT!

SEAN, DREW AND DANNIE rocked the spot!

beating off tricks with sticks....take a number....LOL!

GOOD TIMES!
