as many of you already know, ive been borrowing allstar ben's canon 10d with 28-105mm lens for the past month because mine was in for repair for its faulty light meter.
as of 11:15am today, purolator dropped off my fixed camera from canon. i just finished testing it and it works like new. i am a very happy camper even though it took them 21 business days to get it back to me even though they said 15 business days when i dropped it off.
woot

Canon has the absolute WORST customer service ever...I've had SO many problems with them. Had to complain so much and push my complaints so high up the corporate ladder that they finally replaced my camera.
PS I got the Canon Digital Rebel XT now with the 24-70mm L lens.

mmm L-series.. wish i had money for one of those..
although 24mm is not wide enough for my application. when it comes to club photography, my rule is 'the wider, the better'.
the xt is a great camera though. very good for every day use. i would like to purchase a 30d for other stuff and use the xt for clubs only.

XT is good buy way too small, I could never understand why they made it smaller - it's not comfortable in your hands really. It's much better if you get the grip for it, which I did, but still - it feels small.

Quality wise though it's a great buy.
i find the size perfect for me. smaller size means less of a bitch to carry around in a club. when i was carrying the 10d around, holy crap, lifting that thing up over my head and down all night was a pain in the ass. i thought about getting a grip for my camera but decided not to cuz it would just make the camera bulkier and heavier and i really dont need to have the extra battery power since one battery can last the night.
quality-wise, the xt is definitely great since it has the same ccd as the 20d but at a fraction of the cost.
i was looking at the nikon d80 and that thing looks pretty sick. but owning a nikon and a canon means spending a lot more than i should on lenses.
