SUBWAY CLOSURES Service will be shut down between Downsview and Lawrence West subway stations on the Yonge-University-Spadina subway line starting on Saturday at 6 a.m. Shuttle buses will be available, but TTC officials require riders to have transfers for connecting routes at Glencairn and Yorkdale stations. Regular service resumes on Monday morning. WEEKEND EVENTS * Church Street will be closed from Carlton to Alexander streets from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. as The AIDS Walk for Life takes place on Sunday from 11 a.m to 6 p.m. * Bloor Street will be closed from Jane Street to Runnymede Avenue from Friday at 9:30 a.m. to Sunday at 11:59 p.m. for the Bloor West Village Ukrainian Festival * The Variety Village Run and Walk-N-Roll event will close Danforth Avenue, from Kingston to Birchmount roads from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday. * The 30th anniversary of the Terry Fox Run is on Sunday with various events being held around the GTA. |
