James Holden - on his trip to Canada
so u heard what Ferry had to say...heres what Holden said in his last update on March 10th on his website www.jamesholden.org.uk:
"monday, march 10
i just got back from my first ever trip to canada.. how cool is canada? very! i had a great time in montreal and toronto.. so a thousand thanks to the people that nagged the guvernment in toronto to bring me over! (though i doubt any of them will ever read this since it's posted on the world's official worst ever website..)
here's a list of records i like..
1. nathan fake - 2 tracks (cdr)
2. petter - these days (deep records)
3. gill norris - time (nebula)
4. gmk - colours (jh club tool reedit)
5. avus - fancy ass (cdr)
6. transparent sound - fade to grey (electrix)
7. nydel - silver breeze (cdr)
8. holden & thompson - nothing (laid mixes) (loaded)
9. jas - hitchhikin' (chicken lips remix) (hooj)
10. m mayer - spriecher 2 (kompakt)
oh and exciting things are coming but its bad luck to talk about things before they're ready."
Holy crap, he's right. That's one of the ugliest website out there...shesh Haha, gotta love Holden though.
neways, I always wonder how sincere these djs are when they come to our city and always give amazing reviews. I mean, it's nice to hear but what did you really expect? They're not gonna come here and crap all over the city, they want to come back. Read their diary and you'll see most have nothing but great things to say about every city they ever play at. I just find it suspicious, nothing but a PR move if you ask me. But it's not like we don't know that already.
I just wish I had a dime everytime some dj comes here and tells you Toronto's a world class city and that they're going to make it their second home. Meanwhile everyone here wets their panties.

i guess ur right Trancewave....any famous personality always says favourable things....nobody wants to be hated when they depend on the audience for their income.....
oh well i think i should be made a famous personality, go tour in america and say stuff bout the extremists there
I have never seen a review by a DJ saying that the city he visited was too freakin' cold, weather was disguisting, people were so cold, or something along those lines... from now on whenever someone says too many great things about Toronto, I automatically know that he had shitty time and is just covering all that up with some kind words.
At least we know what PVD thinks about the city... it took him a year and a half of persuading to come back to Toronto.

I love the website, fuck you haters who need a zillion things going at once to be impressed. I read somewhere that his brother put it together for him.
Only this board would fucking discredit him for saying nice shit. Granted you rarely hear bad things said about cities, but you rarely hear anything at all. What does it take to impress you guys, shit.
Oh and Liam, broadband in England isn't as common as it is here. It's in the process still.
NOTICE A THEME....FUCKING SPOILED!
<-- Gives respect to James Holden. I love ya bruv.

Yup, only this board would do such a thing . I'm just following the TOTA tradition.

heres what Danny Howells said about his recent trip to Toronto
"From Montreal to Toronto, another of my favourite cities. This time I was back at Guvernment ... I can't remember the name of the room I played, but it was absoltely uber-dope! Again the night had a valentine theme ... as there were some rather rude videos being shown on the screens. (They weren't that hardcore though ... they should have asked me to bring some of my Dutch specials.)"
