I would. Those things are annoying as heck and really do kill the world cup watching experience. And that is for tv viewers, I pity what the international spectators in the stadiums have to go through.
The whole concept of the world cup is to have different atmosphere generated at each games with supporters of each country bringing their individual style of cheering their team on to their games but so far all you hear is the bee hive sound that does not fade for a second at each and every game.

Blatter thinks he is doing the right thing by saying that this world cup should be showcased with the true African culture but I think he is confusing it with the AFRICAN cup of nations. This is the WORLD cup. There is no reason for Africa to try shoving down a part of their culture (which it is really not since these contraptions were adopted less than 20 years ago) down the throats or rather ears of the international fans when they are clearly not comfortable with it. Actually it is downright selfish and I could compare it to someone talking in a theater during a movie.

Moreover, the worlds top players have criticized it , as have the broadcasters and of greater concerns are the medical reports that the devices can cause damaged hearing through prolonged exposure.

I can safely guarantee one thing , if these instruments continue to be allowed for the rest of the tournament , this is the last world cup that Africa will ever get to host which would really be a shame. It really is a significant achievement for an African country to be awarded the tournament - a scenario many would not have contemplated a decade ago.

There are many other aspects of African culture that fans and players can be immersed in rather than a 5 dollar plastic contraption that sours the whole experience for players, tv viewers and attendees alike.

there were serious problems in south africa with the preparation of the tournament:
being stadium completion, increased cost of housing for tourists, railway systems not being completed, workers going on strike to demand more money on multiple occassions (knowing that the government needed to be ready for the world cup)

Yes, there is a good chance Africa will be avoided for world cup hosting for quite some time, but not due to a horn
