in case anyone wonders this was fucking awful.
at midnight, the music STOPPED. i believe it waws graham gold who came on and drivelled on for HALF A FUCKING HOUR about some gives-a-shit trance awards, while we were all wondering where the music went, with this knob chatting away at the front.
blatantly 90% of the ppl in the building were coming up like a c*nt from their pills and wondering what to do. (i clearly do not support this kind of activity, but was still wondering where the fucking goddamned music went)
throughout nu nrg's set, the entire right hand speaker set was silent. music was only coming out of one set of speakers.
slinky: die.
hugsxxx

in fairness you must have expected awards to be given out at an awards ceremony. and it wasn't half an hour it was fifteen minutes (although it did feel like half a life-time!).
it was a shame though, would have been an awesome night if they hadnt stopped the music. it took a long time for me to get back in the mood. On the plus side considering it wasn't the best line-up ever and trance has struggled a bit in recent years at slinky there was a good crowd, it felt quite vibrant and fresh and very few chavs which is also nice.
if you think there was alot of pilled up people there you should see what its like when Tidy Boys or someone like Mark EG are playing.
the speaker issues were a bit shit though

drugs: i'm joking i was coming up like a c*nt when arse gold was whittering on...
...i didn't know it was some awards night tho, my mate had her birthday and wanted to go to slinky, she told me nu-nrg were playing and i've been to slinky dozens of times so thought it would be a good idea.
clubs should NEVER stop the music, since that's the reason they exist...i have no fookin idea what the awards were, or who won anything, i wasn't listening, i was waiting for the music to come back on. they didn't even have tunes playing in the background. just TALK.
plus the one set of speakers and I'll be surprised if lots of ppl don't pass bad words around about it.

haha you were one of those then. i agree it was a stupid idea to stop the music for that amount of time. maybe if they had split the awards into three lots of 5 mins and just had some basey music playing it would have been better.
will you be making the trip over for Paul van Dyk. That is going to be an immense night.

PvD is 8th april. Adam Sheirdan is playing that night too.
The Easter Ball on March 25 could be a good one as well (Matt Hardwick, Marco V, Petra Foy)
I was by the right hand podium, pissing myself with laughter. there was quite a few of us off the slinky forum who were trying to cheer and stuff.; we gave a big cheer for Adam Sheridan winning mixmag future hero.

they had a new one put in a couple of months ago.
the issues with the sound was actually from NuNRG set-up. It was fine the rest of the night although did sound a bit funny at refresh
