UK insurance question (moving across seas and records) :p...
yo UKTA... how are you guys doing?
well i got a question from a friend today and i figured this was probably the only place i could maybe get some answers
i have a friend that is moving from london to the united states...the problem is that he has about a $50,000 collection worth of records. would anyone by chance know of an insurance company that might insure a record collection like this on the move?

No idea, but you could try someone like Pickfords (CLICK) Fortis, Norwich Union, AXA or any of these people. I've been with Fortis for travel ('cos getting usual travel insurance is a bitch as I have type 1 diabetes) and they were great about it. So might be worth trying with vinyl too!

There's a word that sums up this sort of behaviour, and that word is 'reject.'

probably best to hire one of those big storage things that they haul across on ships
do you know how hot those metal containers can get? i wouldnt stick $50k of vinyl in one of them unless they were really well packed .. wouldnt want to receive a load of warped vinyls on the other end ..
