Be Cool! Promise last night, whose your daddy?

last night was fucking mint! way better than i expected, and i expected a lot!

we got there for about half ten, got in str8 away there was no queues or owt infact it was pretty empty, richard tulip was playing some cliche proggy warm up tunes. met a few people from the promise board who know who i was after some of us off the gc board decided to raid their board! anyway matt hardwick came on and was ready to be god as usual, started off with somew amriny type progtrance going onto a selection of bonzai then powerful uplifting trancers with some harderish stuff @ the end of his set, all in all fucking mint! then it was time for richgard tulip to do an other hour and we all thought"oh crap here we go, warm up music for another hour" but then he came on and played what only be described as hardtrance which was fucking amazing! played addies like pho (cosmic gate remix), hands up, runinning (dumonde remix hahaha ) and a selection of other beauties we had no idea what were called! anyway then came on anne savage, she is a fox!!! anyway! anne savage had just come back from ibiza and the airline had lost all her record!!! but she ended up borrowing a load of records from kerry james (hardhouse dj who goes to promise all the time) richard tulip (who had jsut been a daddy before) and matthardwick (its alwyas good when people borrow his records!) and played and absiloute quality set of hardhouse trance! which was an excellent advert for hardhouse, not cheesy at all complety banging apart from "tears do us part" (hahahahha maximum cheese) so basically all in all the BEST night i have had outside of crasher EVER! you should all maybe one day come up here but its a bit far out the way, but belive me it is the best crasher alternative (basically it is like crahser but mini!) godskitchen shmodskitchen!

and by the way, I DID THE NIGHT WITHOUT ANYTHING!!!! HAHAH! I AM HARDCORE NOW! my arms hurt hehehe

Heh, you didn't miss much in the first half hour, it was even slower prog.

Matt Hardwick was banging towards the end. I didn't think Richard Tulip's 1 hour set before Savage was very good to be honest, the mixing was simple and not very clean. Anne Savage did some nice mixing though! She tends to bring tracks back and forth, unlike most DJs who just slap the next tune on.

All in all I would say the night was about average for Promise, but that's generally good. Afterwards we went to the 24hr cafe near Haymarket then just got the metro home. We're cheapskates so we try to avoid a taxi if we can

Best moment of the night for me was when Matt Hardwick dropped Eon - Pocket Damage

A fairly messy night ... my head hurts!

yeh, that was fukkin mint like, esp copyin ferry - needlejuice to pocket damage the bass on them speakers was incredible, and i remember ferry playin pocket damage at gkc which wan on hooj speakers, but that was louder and more emotional in promise pocket damage is my fave tune live i also thought it was mint when hardwick dropped goldenscan - sunrise, which was mint coz he played the original, which imo, is the best mix

did u see the fight that happened somewhere by the sofas on the right during hardwick's set ???

Naa I didn't see any fights, what time was this?

Most of the night (from about 11pm onwards) we were just in front of the second pillar so I couldn't see the seats except when I went for a slash. Which seats, on the right or at the back? At the very start of the night we were at the back seats, cos you can't dance to prog! Whereabouts were you guys anyway?

I don't know if it's the sound system or the acoustics but the bass in that place is amazing! There were a lot of fit birds as well

The whole place just went insane for Pocket Damage, we were near the left then as they turned the lasers, smoke and strobes on and that melody kicks in. Wow!

Cool

We we're at the front, right infront of the right speaker, about within 10 yards of it the whole time, i just read about the fight off the Promise boards...

Man, was it one major fight

I was caught right in the middle of it, was just sitting there with Maverick and a bunch of lads came off the floor, and next thing I knew there were two lads bopping away and one of these lads just hit him out stone cold.

His mate went to help him, and roughly about five lads all started on his mate really kicking the hell out of the kid.

I tried to move out the way, and one of these knackers started on me

Can't stand idiots like these lads, whats the point of just starting one someone for no apparent reason, hope the kid is OK, was out stone and the floor!

These IDIOTS are a waste of space in society and shoild be BANNED from Promise

apparently both ppl concerned we're handles by the bouncers and both got nicked
