A project Dali undertook for the 1939 world fair, very interesting and goes to show just how imaginative the guy was (although it wasn't solely his undertaking he was the mastermind)

His surrealist work is simply incredible... The amount of works he composed over his life is innumerable and he seems to explore every facet imaginable of reality and challenges the status quo openly.

I just thought this would be a neat thread... feel free to offer whoever you think deserves the title...

my favorite has always been van gogh!

I like alot of dali's work, but I wouldnt say he is the best. I personally like yoshitaka amano because of his unique style and his ablility to use watercolour.

I like his stuff too, he's got a good imagination, but ive seen better... quite the nutjob too hehe

Honestly I can't say I have a favourite artist. Every artist excels at conducting a specific part of the art spectrum (which I consider pretty infinite) towards the audience.

I am intruiged by Dali's work. But I have always been more partial to sculpture than painting and Rodin was one of the true masters of that art form.

But I think Albrecht Durer was quite phenomenonal with his realistic portraits and his precisely detailed wood and metal engravings.

Yes he was quite amazing in his own light, but he was also somewhat of an arrogant character. He has drawn himself similar to Christ's figure on some occasions...

yeah ive always liked Dali. But Escher rocks too.
