How long can you store smoothies?

Right, I hope some of the more physically inclined could yield some answers for me.

I want to make a smoothie mixture in a large quantity so as to be able to store, say 2 litres, in the fridge, so I can have a small glass every morning for a week.

The problem is, say I make 2 litres of a banana, milk, strawberry & maca powder smoothie, I dont know how long I could store it in a fridge.

Would a mixture of fruit/milk last a week refridgerated?

Or should I opt out of the milk, using say the fruit and some orange juice to liquidise it a bit?

Help

well if you use ice, as most people do, you won't be able to store it for more than 10 minutes

what shadowolf is saying is that if you put crushed ice in your smoothie to give it that thinkness...the little chunks of ice are gonna melt into water if you try and store it...

Smoothies are fruit, ice, and a base (usually yogurt or milk).

I wouldn't recommend storing smoothies for any period of time. Drink them fresh, even though it's a hassle.

bah, there goes my idea

I'm ultimately looking for an easy way to ensure I get the dose of maca I want each day.

They reccomend 2-3 teaspoons a day, and as it tastes kinda malted, it goes easily in smoothies, or milk based drinks, or baked goods.

I just figured if I made a large amount of a morning drink, I could include the right amount so I could just chug a glass each morning before work.

I'll hafta come up with a new idea

Can you put it in coffee or tea?

I would think that fruit are mildly acidic, and I don't think that one can store milk with anything acidic for more than say a few hours.
If you don't use milk then you might get the fruit starting to ferment, so you might end up with smoothy beer after a few days.

I know that a pinapple soothy is undrinkable if it is left longer than 10 minutes. Gets kinda chunky.

Why don't you just make yourself a fresh one every morning? Too much of a hassle?
