Too lazy to really read it, but read the first section. She's not too far off. Its a pretty fucked up system that the record companies have set up for the artists. Pretty much everything that gets fronted to the artists, they have to recoup in their small amount of royalties they get from their record sales. I mean generally, that could atleast be kind of fair, if the record companies didn't take 80-90% of the record sale. It should be the other way around. Its it pretty fucked up how the record company, not the artists own the copyright. Well there are actually two copyrights, one for the recording and another for the song. Depending on the contract, I think the artist can own the copyright for the song.
