Exactly my point. I think this has potential to be an interesting discussion.
Could the brain even function without any kind of sensory input? I have a feeling that guy on here who studied neuroscience is going to come and answer this question definitively and ruin the discussion.

i like this thought, similar to one of the books im reading, it asked, if you're riding a train how would you know it's in motion if your windows are covered and you don't feel your surroundings like your back against the chair, your feet on the floor, etc.. you could be stationary, and you could be in motion..
as far as being blind, deaf, mute, and without his senses.. i don't know how else it would realize it's own existence or experience anything.. the mind gets stimulated when you're young bc of the stimuli around you, without that, then i guess that person would be the equivalent of a piece of broccoli
