I'm not sure I know of any other mainstream artist who pines for recognition and validation on the internet as much as he does. It's not so bad if you're just starting in the music business when you're hooring yourself out to get recognised, but this guy is pretty big now.
you know, I really don't care for deadmau5 too much (not really my cup of tea), and I know a lot of people hate on him, but to me the one thing that annoys me the most about him are his fans. I've seen his facebook page and stuff and it seems like he can post absolutely anything and his fans and just pour out their obsession of him. like he can just simply post "I had lunch" and within seconds he has hundreds of replies all along the lines of "omg mau5 food!!!! hahaha I love you so much deadmau5! you're the best!"

I don't know how I'd handle that kind of pressure. I saw this new documentary on Jean Michel Basquiat the other day and it was also the story of a wunderkind who couldn't handle the pressure and came to a tragic end. I suppose the most important things you can do are to keep your life as real as possible, have people close to you who knew you before you were famous (ie keep your hood pass intact), and try not to take yourself seriously.

Ah, so that's why he wears the mouse head - keeps himself hidden from the audience.
Y'know, even after all this time, I still like the gimmick. I just wish he'd stop trying to please everyone with generic music and perhaps get more creative.
