116 "sudden" resignations from world banks?

Not that I have any idea what the turnover rate for such a job is, but seems pretty strange...

http://americankabuki.blogspot.com/...orld-banks.html

116 resignations in just a few months... many of them in the past few weeks. Damn Mayans.

Are you going to provide some kind of context or analysis or, well, ANYTHING to make us believe the OP is somehow notable or out of the ordinary?

Chief executive turnover in finance is always high at around 10-15% depending on just what's happening in the industry and economy at the time... this isn't exactly super-secret stuff in public companies.

From the comments:

quote:
Hi, AK-

Do you have comparative resignation figures from earlier years? (snip)

quote:
I get asked this a lot. I don't have a database of prior years.

I can only judge from the trickle of resignations that happened in September and October compared to what has happened in January and February. I started the study more based on an intuitive hunch I had when someone on another blog posted 9 significant resignations - I just knew there had to be more. I expect many more in March. Apparently a lot of other people think what I have found is significant as I have had nearly 80,000 web hits in the past week. And that does not include those web sites which have copied the post and posted it on their sites with no link to this site.

It seems to be occuring first in Asia and spreading West. America has yet to see its wave, and it will be huge. The UK is seeing significant changes. As is Germany.

So, in other words... not really. Might just be an alarmist. If anyone's interested, they're free to find some figures.
