XP doesn't like anything by Adaptec....so uninstall anything by adaptec...like EasyCD Creator or DirectCD and delete the adaptec folders. then reboot and try.

adaptec does provide and aspi layer for winxp methinks.. or try the CDRWIN homepage, i am sure that they will have a link to a place where u can download the ASPI stuff
