my business was broken into early this morning: COR you have a mission
Here are the facts
1. homeless guy (i believe) breaks store front glass door.
2. steals about 50 in food.
3. door will cost about $550.
4. have alarm system and cameras.
5. guy is quick; in and out in less than 3 minutes
6. have a clear view of his face, clothes, etc.
short of closing or moving what could i do to prevent this from occurring again. i need ideas.
Make it explicitly clear you'll share food by the end of the day. Install shutters. Let him be, no one got hurt. If you must, make him pay somehow (make him fix it or something). I'd write it off as an unintended Christmas present.

Sucks, man.
And it's xmas. Let the guy be.
I mean, maybe give out the pic to the police,
or maybe to other store owners in the area, and tell
them to be on the lookout in case the guy is casing their joint.
The guy is probably so poor off that he's likely to be a repeat-offender, so let the state pay for his meals? US prison system is whack tho.

This is illegal; cue Latin outrage.

Explicitly is redundant and unnecessary.
