well...if you were reading the posts about my computer problems before, i think my computer was being hacked. all my system files were deleted and i was unable to boot windows. in the end i had to resort to reinstalling windows on my computer. i'm pretty sure that it was not a virus, and my HDD is fine because i did a thorough scan of it.

i was just wondering how a hacker can access the files on your computer...and how i can prevent that from happening.

get behind a firewall or use a program like norton internet security that warns aboud possible invasions. also, there are programs and shit hidden in emails spammed by email which may allow hackers to access your comp through a 'backdoor'. just watch what you open and don't spam your ip around. hehe. even though ip addys are easily obtainable.

Dude you probably used a program.. from a very nice person

I had it 2 once.. i scanned it for trojans (with the cleaner) i scanned it for virusses wit avp.. nuthing.. completely nuthing...

I double clicked it and the program edited my command.com some of my .sys files.. and i kinda had the same problem as you

So it wasnt a hacker...

Listen

Why should a real hacker (these guys are pretty cool and shouldnt be messed with) why should such a person hack your computer?? you work for the nasa? for microsoft/? or for some other big company? You shouldnt really be affraid of this otherwise you shouldnt even use internet
It can still happen ofcourse..maybe someone who justs wanna practice or mess with ya Guess your really lucky than

a real hacker could use your pc.. as a zombie host thingie.. some real hackers did that a few months ago.. and sent so much traffic to microsoft that whole hotmail was down lol.. for a day or 2 i think.. So they make sure they get other peoples computers to do these sorts of stuff hehe

Fake ass newbie hackers.. well these people know shit and just dl for an example a program called sub7.. and try to mess with people. (it aint smart to start this shit either.. you never know.. if the person at the other side is more experienced or has some hacker friends etc)

Eeeh why was i typing this again??

heh, aww..come now tu_face, most hackers that i know aren't bad... most of them wouldn't harm a soul with their skillz. hehe. i myself was one a while ago, a buddy taught me the tricks of the trade and we had some fun, but nothin' terrible. hehe. though, of course their are those that lean more towards the dark side....those are the ones that deserve to be thrown in jail...
