Hi people i need some help. Im having problems concentrating and focusing on doing things that need to be done. Im not sleepy or anything but i find it hard to concentrate on doing one thing. I start doing it, then i go do something else. I seem to be easily distracted and wanting to play games instead of doing my work. Whats wrong with me, is there anything i can do about it? like drugs or something or anything else?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

ADD is overdiagnosed these days, even the pros overdiagnose it.

Here's the solution: Tell youself: "SIT THE FUCK DOWN AND DO THIS SHIT NOW, THEN GO JERK OFF ALL YOU LIKE". Really hard at first, gets better after a while (like a couple weeks of constant effort).

I was thinking that i do have ADD but i dont know how to test for it. And i forgot to ask my doctor.

Any drugs for ADD? (that dont cause side effects like impotency? )

maybe you are on TA too much... i blame messageboards for a lot of my inability to focus...

i could never focus on highschool work, (i never seemed to be able to sit down and read the required reading because it was so boring, or there were better things to do) yet i left everything to the last minute when the pressure of either passing or failing actually got my attention(and made me do the work).

anyway, so i got into uni, and its the same thing here. i dont do jack shit. i think they call it "lazyness"

don't test yourself, go see a physician and he/she will give you some names of specialists. dexedrine, ritalin, etc. are all free with a drug plan and they work. even for people that are lazy and dont necessarily have an extreme case of ADD. there are no major side effects aside from loss of appetite (for the length of the dose ie. 4-6 hours on most types of pills). just go and get tested and make sure u make them think u have ADD. dont be stupid and be ashamed or embarrassed by it. if you get diagnosed with it u can test the meds out and see if they work. dont try your friend's pills for 3 days, it needs to be administered consistantly.

do you have trouble filtering things so mostly the required information gets to your head? like do you get distracted by a voice in the hallway when you're trying to write something? people who don't have ADD can focus on one thing and ignore other things easily.
people with ADD can't. which one are you?

you don't HAVE to be on meds but it is the quickest path. the other alternative is a psychological one. make your decision based on who you think is a lesser fraud, a psychologist or a pharmacist?

Its the mtv generation attention span, its sumfinnk like only 7secs long, watch a movie n ull notice they usually give you a new peice of information every few seconds. It means we arent trained to concentrate for any longer..victims of a system me thinks
