well, it appears that the media/ social consensus in this country is that violence is not as bad as sex. If you take a look at movie ratings, say Mortal Kombat (PG-13 if i am not mistaken), violence is socially much more accepted to be shown to minors than sex. From my youth in Germany, most movies that were pg-13 here, were 16+ or 18+ over there, mostly for their violent content. On the other hand, movies with sexually explicit themes were rated 12+ (nudity, either 16 or 18+) while being R rated in this country.
I don't understand why seeing a woman's naked breast, or a man's naked behind (both have been on free tv in germany, airing at noon, or 2pm) is worse for a young adults mind than seeing someone tear out another persons' spine (MK)?
I really don't see why violence is 'better' then sexually explicit themes?
