How to record off the radio?

My apologies for asking a question that has been answered many times before, but I noticed the search function is not working right now.

I am trying to record a radio streaming broadcast, as my brother's band is going to be featured in a story about Brett Favre's father dying. The broadcast is being streamed over the net using a tuner that I am not familiar with (SurferNETWORK player). How do I record the live stream? I have Cool Edit Pro 2.0 and Sound Forge 6.0 if those work for a radio record.

use total recorder. works perfectly fine for me. but u'll have to pay for it, as the demo version only allows u to record for 40 seconds.

Thanks for the suggestion, but to record something that's going to be less than 5 minutes I will pass on purchasing anything.....

if the stream is a shoutcast type/metaInt or somethin I believe you can use StreamRipper I use this a lot and it works really well (I use the winamp plugin version)

worst case scenario is that you can't find a compatible stream ripper for your type of stream in which case u can use goldwave to record "what you hear", u can get goldwave from downloads.com
