CD Settlement Approved!
Anybody remember reading about the lawsuit against the music industry for fixing the prices of CDs back in Jan or so? Well, the case was settled today and the consumers won. So that means everybody that signed up will be getting money back!
Everyone is my house will be getting $13 checks sometime soon. I love getting back @ the music industry.

The music industry is a multibillion dollar business. Now, some of those dollars are coming back to consumers.
The attorneys general of 43 states and commonwealths joined forces to file a lawsuit against the top five U.S. music distributors and three large retailers, alleging price-fixing on CDs, cassettes and LPs.
The companies agreed to a $143 million settlement, with $44 million going to consumers. Claims for cash reimbursements were accepted earlier this year at www.musiccdsettlement.com.
WTAE's Wendy Bell reports that a U.S. District Court judge in Maryland has approved the agreement, and more than three million people will get a $12.60 cash award.
Settlement notices should be mailed to consumers within six weeks. Checks will follow by the end of the year.
Music companies and distributors maintain that they did nothing wrong. |
