Hello!

I already have a pioneer deck in my car and recently I got some $$ to finish the system. Unfortunately, I'm basically clueless as to what speakers, woofers, amps, etc are quality. And since this seems to be such a male dominated board I figured you could all help me out! Any info would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

go try stuff! dont always listen to other people

I like infinity stuff, the kappas are expensive but sound awesome and handle some big power. and although youll get a lot of sub suggestions from people what id strive for even more is great overall sound, highs, mids and especially the crossover from mid to low. it sux if your subs overpower everything else and it you cant hear your speakers, all the bass in the world cant make you cool anyways. one fosgate with 700w would easily be enough thump for me, just get all the other kewl stuff like amped speakers - lots of them. peace.

Talking Kewl!

I agree with Biznology, you dont have to load a car up with subs to have a bangin' system. I have 2 12's with a huge box in my Bronco which sounds good but takes up too much space! My friend has 1 12" with a small box and i think it sounds much better... I would think 1 qaulity 12" would be sufficient (maybe a Kicker Solo Baric to save some space)and high quality component speakers - Infinity, JBL, MB Quart...

Anyway, there is a few things to get you started!

Good Luck

ps. remember qaulity over quantity!

Talking hmm

well if you want help tell us what you like...how much youll spend...that stuff. are you going ALL OUT and spending thousands upon thousands or just want to get something decent for your money. id say that you might not want to set out for something less that 3000 if you want a 'system' otherwise youll be selling yourself short. you can do it with less, i did, but you wont be quite as happy, but still entertained. do you want the bass to knock? do you want people outside to hear your car - or just a great system on the inside? peace. and have fun wit it, i mis my car period.

and YES! quality is good.

Hello!

Basically I just want something that really makes the musik sound great in my car. I'm not really into overpowering bass because I think that would just ruin the songs I have if the bass was the main focal point. Also I don't need my neighbors hearing me come from a mile away. I really would like to spend no more then $1000 on everything. I'm really just looking for decent sound I don't really need the best of the best. I would like a well rounded sound where I can appreciate the highs as well as the kickin bass lines.

Yeah thats understandable. I would say a sub is necessary tho - they make everything sound soooo much better no matter what. I am in no way an expert so I would say you should just shop around, listen to different speakers, amps, subs, and see what you like. A pretty good mail order place is Crutchfield, they have a good number of products and decent service, I got my amp and sub box through them. Don't just buy products cause one person says they are the greatest thing since sliced bread tho, ask around and investigate. And just to contradict that I can say some products I have been happy with are: alpine - their decks rock, infinity, for the most part - the reference speakers have great sound, powerhandling and are relatively cheap, but can tend to crap out (nothing major tho), US Acoustics - not the best for amps but you can get good power for cheap alt I would prob never buy another. peace.

just try to get something that works together well and makes you happy (whichll be hard not to do).
