Hmmm.. it seems like shes avoiding the question because she might not want to hurt you, or could be shy. If it was me i would email her again and find out whats going on. Woman are a jigsaw puzzle with a missing piece sometimes so dont let it get to you.

Wow! You're asking a girl out via email? Sweet... also, very sheepish. The only reason she wrote you back is because you've known each other for ages.
Do not write her. It's that simple. Phone up, meet her and _then_ ask her out.
