Cor post don't add to overall post count.

Nope, only the last 3 years has it been that way.

posts used to count in the COR to your overall post count and your post count was also shown under your username but as usual ppl took the piss and posted things like

in every thread they could to up thier post count.

500 posts back then meant you had custom status, one of the reasons now why it takes 6 months of being registered and 500 posts now to get custom status
