Technical Computer Question

Ok, I just ran a test at wwwp.pcpitstop.com
It said I have a serious problem with my Unchched speed.

Here is what it said exactly:
Another common reason for slow uncached speed on SCSI disks is that the drive's write cache is turned off. SCSI disks usually have write cache turned off by default, because they are often used in high-reliability applications such as servers. This significantly reduces performance for large disk writes. You can enable a disk's SCSI write cache using a utility such as 'Adaptec EZ-SCSI'

Does anyone have this program that they could send me, or anything that will do that same trick?

Please email me at [email protected]
or my icq is 43417590

Please get in touch, my computer's performance is sheit at this point.

Cheers,
Zigg's

Wow you have a scsi drive. Is that burner, or hardrive?

Dont no why you would want one of these now, coz they used to be shit fast compared to everything else, but now they are no better than ide components, and more expensive.

Anyway im not sure why you would have this problem, but i am sure if you used a search engine you could get hold of the software, but i imagine it costs

I would look in the microsoft knowledge base, i believe i have read somewhere that there is a way to turn the write cache on, possibly with a reg setting.

Ok, answering your questions.

I'm running Windows 98 right now.

Firestarter, I just bought the system, so I'm assuming the expensive aspect got the better half of me Either way, I need to turn this 'uncached section' on.

I found a link that explains how to turn it on, however I read it over about 3 times and the language is foreign to me

Here's the link:

Anyhow, hopefully one of you have the software to do this for me so I don't have to manually mess my computer up

Cheers,
Zigg's
