Never used an AV program in my life, never had one virus.
How do I know?
I periodically scan my PC during moments of paranoia, with something like Trend's free online scanning util, but have never had an ANTI virus program.
I can spot a potential virus threat a mile off. I hate AV programs, since they always have an impact on system performance, which is the only reason I won't use them.
A good rule of thumb is to remember that an AV program will never make you invincible.
Kaspersky is a product I resell, and I promote it on the basis that it is reported to have the least impact on system performance of all the main players.
Buy Norton and you may as well pour glue into your system processor.
Edit: those that are suggesting Malware Bytes: It's great from recovering from a situation where you have been f*cked in the ring by some horrible malware, but it's not an Anti Virus program, even the chargeable one. Do not rely on this to keep you out of trouble, rely on it to get you out of trouble.
